Limited Edition? What was limited about it? Not like it had a factory 3.8 in it. So, just the paint? That's like saying my car is an outlier because I have a rear windshield wiper. :P
The car has had paintwork on the front right quarter panel. From what I read (skimming only) it wasn’t disclosed by the seller until a comment buried in the PPI that was just added to the auction. I see a difference in paint color on the passenger side profile photos.
The car fax mentions an odometer discrepancy…
Pretty poor photos and the seller was not available for questions for most of the week.
Seller explained he moved from Canada to US and car was converted from Kilometers to Miles.
The Carfax validates this, as within a month the car was serviced in Canada and had 46,000 on the dial and then 28,000 a few weeks later in the US (which jives with Km to Mi conversion). A common issue with Carfax. They're now reporting everything in the history as "miles".
I also had a car that showed an "odometer discrepancy". It was serviced and had something like 102,xxx miles. Then a day later 105,xxx miles. Then a week after that 102,xxx again. So somebody fat-fingered something. Who drives 3000 miles in a day? Who rolls back miles on a 100K+ mile car and only wants to roll-back 3K miles? I complained a few times and they removed it.
Since we're on the CarFax topic, I'll just throw my two cents out there that the whole "Clean CarFax" is such a joke with these cars and other high-end sports cars.
Most people who bought these cars new or while they've appreciated in value typically have the means (and will) to repair their accident-involved vehicles by paying for repairs out of pocket, so they don't "taint" the precious CarFax "report card".
"Clean CarFax with no accidents" means **** with these cars. My 993 shows no accidents on the CarFax. After taking it to bare metal to change the paint, surprise-surprise... took a rear quarter panel along the way (actually, not so surprising as I had my suspicions).
