100% positive the car did not sell, seller got frustrated and took off market and just telling people sold. It’s still available, call and offer him that $200K and he will change his tone

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...carrera-4s-64/

This is the one with the worn bolster...and if it was going to stay in this range, I'd Rudyfied that sucker starting with some painted hardbacks...

Sloan has a ‘98 original paint silver C2S with 32K miles listed at $235K. Madness!

Paid about half that for a ‘97 Silver C2S with 58K miles last October.

I can’t imagine the Sloan car will even crack $200K, but let’s see.

RNM...and I don't think it was a matter of just a worn seat bolster...

I would have bought that if I was paying attention... seat is an easy fix.

A driver with neglected maintenance (leaks out of every orfice... motor, trans, steering rack, etc) and folks commenting that it should have hit 150k.

It's all typical stuff. The steering rack would bother me the most, but it's not unusual.

My rule of thumb is if the rear engine lid struts work (keep the engine lid from falling down) then the car can't be that far out of maintenance.

Tires are seven years old and still look new which should also tell you something about the alignment and use over the past few years.

I'm actually sorry I missed this. I would have bought it for a flip. The color and miles are compelling.

I've got my eye on the 550 Maranello up tomorrow. That one might lead to a divorce...

Well who knows what the reserve was... it didn't meet it. If you think there's meat on the bone at 120k+ or whatever they may be seeking, then you still have a chance to grab it.

Personally, for that kind of money, I'd expect to see something a lot cleaner. A leak here and there is one thing but every major area is more of a concern. Photo #71 looks like more than a typical trans leak.

I agree. If the general attitude is -we are going to let the next owner take care of this stuff-.....no problem at all, but be prepared to let it go for less than comparatively better examples.

Lots of garbage being passed around for sure! Inventory is tight on 993 WB cars so …. Unsuspecting suckers are paying up regardless unknowingly what lies ahead in additional costs.

the 993 I got 6 weeks ago sight unseen was perfect expect for the back lid struts. Now it's in the garage for probably a dead alternator, proper diagnostics pending. This comment hit too close to home tonight! LOL

Congrats on the car and good luck getting it sorted. The good news is the 993 is rock solid once you get them sorted out.

I keep my car well maintained. The damn struts constantly fail. The frunk is easy. The rear just a PITA enough to leave out of spec…

As another data point, there is a 1996 black C4S with 99k miles, carfax ding and asking price of 135k (up from initial ask of 125k) in the RL marketplace that was posted in November that looks to still be available.

I'd love to see it sell since it is otherwise a close comp to my own which has no stories.

Rudys Ocean Jade C2S just sold at Gooding for 185,000. With their commissions/shipping, that is $210,000.
