ROFL! I would say no more than $85k. ODO with “Not actual mileage”:CarFax ding. Personally, just that would deter me to look elsewhere....despite the top end rebuild... but that is me.

i think $85 sounds very generous, your initial $75,000 for +100k mile car makes more sense , I’d think realistically $70,000 and if there is a carfax ding at all need to shave some off that.

I stand corrected... $70k MAX! ODO issue alone says it’s a NO from me regardless of the circumstances.

Best way to find out is "trying" to sell it on BaT and what they do with the reserve.

It's not that there's something fundamentally wrong with your car; it's just that it will take a special buyer to pay $70k-$85k for that car with over 100k on it. The buyer is out there and it's a question of finding it.

Look at auction pics 96 and up and tell me they aren't an accurate representation of the car.

Now I'm confused, are we still talking about the car?

I was in the market for a higher mileage WB last summer and I agree. With no odo issue, and knowing what I know now about those mods, I would consider paying 80-85k for that car if in good cosmetic condition. With the odometer flag, that would bump it down to 70-75k for me.

To go higher than that, you probably would need to find an enthusiast buyer who is very confident they want to keep the car for a long time and therefore be less worried about the odometer issue/carfax flag.

Not sure why odometer would have to be replaced but if done 5 months after purchase, I doubt there's real concern about how many miles more the car has been driven over the current reading. I think having top end done is much more desirable than a low mileage one that hasn't had it done unless the purpose is to deep it in a museum. If driven, these cars will likely need a top end eventually.

When I was researching these cars I noticed a number of threads on odo failures, seemed like a legitimate problem with them at any point in the life of the car (judged that by looking at post dates)

$70,000 if it has odometer issues, $75,000 if it doesn’t, once you cross that 100,000 miles it’s a mental thing for people. These are realistic numbers not inflated as almost every WB owner will want to post

I agree once over 100k miles ..... a very small pool of buyers exist at that point.

Then again, some buyers would rather have a 100K mile car that has had all the big work done, i.e. top end rebuild, new clutch, upgraded suspension, etc., than, say, a 60K mile car that has none of it done.

Both are higher mileage, but the 60K miler will cost you $20K to address all those big ticket items that the 100K miler already has had paid for, and with a 993, it's a when, not an if, that you will need to spend money on all of those pricey items

My odometer broke last year just before putting it away for the winter. Bought a new gear from odometergear.com and had a buddy replace it. Might have put 100 miles on the car with the odometer not working. What would you do in a situation like that?

I suppose stop driving if possible until fixed or document it thoroughly to avoid questions upon sale. But in your case how would anybody know unless you disclose?

It seems like a common thing as I said in my first post on the topic.
