+100. It's funny how people place their own value proposition on everything. E.g. "I don't use / value social media therefore neither does anyone else..."

Social media works and people are influenced by what they see. The more images of celebs with 993's we get the more popular they'll become. It's hardly surprising given that the 90's are the zeitgeist right now. Just look at the attendence levels of RadWood for evidence of that.

So these tip hammer prices should be of no surprise here.
I'm the furthest thing from a Kardashian fan, but I believe it's actually Kendall that drives a black 4S, not Kylie. Saw an episode on Jay Leno that Kendall is actually quite a car buff and appreciates the classics. When you're worth a billion+ dollars and can drive anything you want, I can respect the fact that she can drive and appreciate a 3-pedal 993.

She does have a 993 C4S. Drives that 6sp Manual like a boss with those heels too!

I'm not totally cynical about new 993 owners.

The fact that a car is manual actually makes it appealing to a lot of younger people. It's a skill and it isn't easy for younger people to learn. That makes it exclusive. And exclusivity is the name of the game.

It seems like every younger generation person who checks out my car make note that it's a manual and nod approvingly. Take that for what it's worth.

That's because you bought it based on functional benefits. It's a product or device to serve your specific purpose. Whereas they are buying based on emotional benefits e.g. to look cool - totally different needstates for which 2 or 3 pedals makes no difference.

It’s a matter of opinion.

I think the fact that most young people can’t drive stick, make owning a stick that much cooler. Basic psychology.

Ironically, I’ve been tempted more than once to get a Tip 993 convertible. Just for a totally different experience (and because my wife hates driving stick).

Keep in mind who her dad is (or was...?). S/he was a race car driver. Say what you'd about Kendall. She has good taste in cars.

Sorry but that's not how it works. Most young people don't have a BlackBerry. Doesn't mean they are cool, unobtainable, making a come back. Sadly. As I do miss mine.

The mistake is to assume our values on others. People have different need states. That's it. Young or old some prefer stick some don't. The point is stick is no longer the driving factor behind the purchase decision. Dare we say it but these old air cooled cars are becoming cool, manual and tip together.

This is the wrong thread for a pricing question- this is about tracking widebody prices and you'd need to provide a LOT more info to get an accurate price.
