IMMO BLOCK is not a “FOB eliminator”. Even if it was you’d still need a FOB to unlock the door, right? That’s the only way to get in without sounding the alarm. So until someone comes up with door alarm defeat, we're stuck with the FOB.

IMMO BLOCK has nothing to do with the doors. It stops the immo from self-arming. That happens 3 minutes after you unlock the door or 90 seconds after you turn the ignition off. Self arming is what forces us to lock and unlock an ready unlocked door before it can be started.

With IMMO BLOCK, when you lock with the FOB, the car has full OEM anti-theft. When you unlock it, it remains startable indefinitely.

Were immobilizers standard on 993's delivered to Peru?

Cant wait to get this from Jay! Should have it in a few days. I took my 14 year old daughter out to learn to drive a stick in the 993 on Saturday. Mine has an RS flywheel so it is incredibly easy to stall (especially if you are a 14 year old). Let me just say it got really tired of reaching over her to get to the key and fob and get it started every time. We did have a blast though. I was going to show her in the M3 (Which is really easy) but she insisted on the 993! Thats my girl!!! Anyway, cant wait to get it and get it installed!!!

Finally got around to installing it. Thank you. I might be the odd duck, but my gong relay was in the back and the flasher in the front.

Haven't purchased the IMMO block (other priorities at the moment) but just wanted to add that I have my interior completely apart and today I took a look at the arrangement since the gauges are out...

I have the same as Jay's photos. Gong in the front. '98 C2S.

Not to belabor the point but as can be seen from tuto993's install photo below, the gong and flasher relays appear to be mounted on two separate sockets that could easily have been swapped at some point by a PO. This is a more likely than the factory changing the way the car was assembled. Also checked with '96 IMMO BLOCK users with cars built just before and after HalfGerman's - both have the gongs as shown in the Instruction Manual (gong closer to the driver). Good to know things fit either way, though!

Jay, as others have stated, this is a real help to a frustrating part of ownership, thank you for your efforts in removing the immo. Please include me on the list if I’m not too late

thanks

Hi Jay - I just checked my VIN and my last 4 digits of my 95 C4 are 3175, quite a bit under the 3514. What do you think the odds of it working?

You should be fine. I know for a fact that a coupe with VIN 308x (1/95 build) and a CAB with VIN 274x (12/94 build) both had drive block.
What's your build date? (it's on the sticker on the door jamb).
