I installed the IMMO BLOCK this weekend, and it works just as advertised. A very nice solution.

FWIW, Jay says my early '95 build is the new record holder for being the oldest 993 to try the device.

I came across this thread as I was looking into buying my first 993. I ordered the IMMO Block the same day I cut a deal on the car. The car was delivered yesterday, and the first thing I did after driving around the block was install the IMMO Block. It took all of three minutes (and I'm not at all technically proficient) and works as advertised. I may be the first owner of a 993 w/immobilizer ever that has never had to deal with the annoyance of it. I highly recommend the product.

Congrats on your new 993 and welcome to the ranks of the "mobilized".

For those that might not be aware, there's a discount coupon on the website running through end of the month. http://www.ezimmoblock.com

Jay,

Is there any way to manufacture an immo block without having to utilize a 9V battery?

Sad to say my car can sit months to almost 1 year at a time without driving and it would suck for me to have to replace the internal 9v battery every other time I do get to drive it?

Just a thought.

Short answer - no. It's the tradeoff for making it plug-and play. It's a five minute changeout every 2 years (3 with lithium).

Also, keep in mind that the worst thing that happens if the battery dies is that you have to cycle the locks before starting the car, just like the old days.

I've been enjoying my Immo Blocker for about 6 weeks and it's working perfectly. It's such a pleasure to be able to get into the car, turn the key and go. I don't miss that awkward pause where you toggle the locks or hold the button on the fob. Thanks, Jay!

Thanks for the feedback my friend. If you're ever down my end of the state, look me up, we'll go ridin'.
Until then, stay safe! Jay

I picked up a 1996 C2 a couple of weeks ago. The immobilizer is the worst thing ever. Happy to see a solution and ordered just now. Thanks Jay!
