is there any possibility that the same 3.6 na being used in base/s, especially in s without hybrid, hence manual availability? i am asking since i need to make decision on whether to take a .1 c2s allocation with june build. main reason why i want a .1 is for the analog tachometer, but if .2 s has a manual with 3.6na I would no doubt take it over .1 even with full digital dash. thx!
and yes, the tach on the 992 really is amazing!

they don't know the information for the other models at this time
I personally doubt that they will drop MT completely ,
and Porsche is great at milking things , so even if they drop MT on regular versions , they will make special editions with MT and charge more money

The Camera T is not an "always" model (like the Base or S). When the 992.2 launches the T will probably not be available (or it shouldn't). I think a lot of us T owners would be upset because it's supposed to be a limited production year car. Just like they had it for only the end of the 991.2 and not for the first 3 years of the 992.1 . Maybe they offer the T for the very end of the 992.2 production series again.

Whilst a very different car, my X3 m40i has a 48V hybrid system. The only upside is very smooth start stop operation.
The little motor helps in acceleration, but I'm not sure how much I feel it. The battery is supposed to charge with regen, but there is no strange feel when engine braking/car slowing down on its own. I haven't been able to tell the difference in the slightest if the regen is active or not. The 48V battery, however, hasn't gone past 3/4 full in 2 years probably (mostly 1/2 or below) regardless of type of driving or length of trip.

I think of the Carrera models, the Targa is currently the lowest production, probably followed by the S. I think more Carrera Ts were made this time around than the base model. I own a GTS

There is no indication the T is any more limited production than the other Carrera models.. I thought that as well when I bought my 991.2T, thinking the next one would also be a .2, but then they immediately came out with one for the 992.1.

I don't think the T (or the GTS) can be considered "limited" vehicles with the 992.1 generation. It seems like there have been more T/GTS models than Base/S over the last couple years.

I created another thread talking about a delay. According to our regional Porsche manager, they said the unveil is delayed till early next year.
Take it with a grain of salt, I'm sharing what I've been told.
Some other owners have corroborated the information by talking to their sales advisors and they are also talking about a delay.
I don't know the reason, but I saw an article claim something with the regen wasn't working out.
I'm curious if this delay will allow for the 4.2 to finish development for the GT3.
Doubt it, but it'd be neato.

I can see that being a true statement for 2023 and 2024 but the 992.1 gen ran from 2020 to 2024. In 2020, 2021 and 2022, they did not make the T. So the T will be more limited across the 992.1 gen vs the base or S which they produced for 5 years vs just 2 in the T. Hopefully there will be some production data to review at some point.

The T is only limited because Porsche knows their market demographics.
The number of people who want a T is simply less than those that want another trim of the 911.
Don't let the noise on Rennlist or the Youtube fawning distort the real demand for the T.
This isn't a normative statement about the T, just a factual one.

+1. The T has less production in the quantitative sense as there are less T's built than other models because of less demand. I think the better term would be the T is "produced in less numbers" as opposed to it is a "limited production" car. The T is definitely not "limited production" in the qualitative sense (918, Sport Classic, R, Club, Anniversary) and how that phrase is normally used by car enthusiasts. That is like saying the Toyota Avalon is a "limited production" car because it is produced in less numbers than a Camry or Tacoma..... which is factually true.

If you search across the US, there are tons of used and new 992 Ts. Not limited and not a limited production run. They were easier to get an allocation for than a base or S for sure (according to dealer).

True… I wanted a C2S allocation, but the waitlist locally is approximately 2.5-3 years. I was offered a T allocation within a few months. I took the allocation and took delivery of my build several weeks ago. Do I still want a C2S? Yes and I will eventually upgrade to one when the opportunity presents itself.
