According to what/who exactly? I’ve never heard once that displacement was going up… that would be the opposite of the current automotive industry trend, and reduce the need for electric motors.

Besides that, look at other brands. You can complain but 911 is literally the last supercar that isnt electrified.

Mclaren Artura - electrified
New Lamborghini Huracan - confirmed to be electrified
Lambo Revuelto - electrified
Ferrari 296, Sf90 - both hybrid

most of above ones drive great and pull <7min on nurburgring, so unless Porsche f' it up and makes the battery add 150kg (rather then 50-60kg system like most of above) we should be good. And if they add mild hybrid for extra torque and remove turbos so the engine sounds good as well its gonna sell like hotcakes and 992.1 prices will plummet on secondary market, especially its is now well know 992.2 models are coming with bigger engines.
The 918 Spyder was not a mild hybrid, it was a plug-in hybrid (PHEV). If it was a mild hybrid you wouldn't have even known about it.

Jonny Lieberman indicated that there’s eight more months of 992.1 production in his recent GT3R IG post (because the R’s will made at the end of the .1 run).

That is correct.
The GT/R cars of previous generation typically run in parallel / overlap with the new gen of base and S models.

So if the typical cycle repeats itself, what MY would the 992.2 TT/S show up?

More than likely 2025 for North America. The 2024s are still 992.1

Saw a 992.2 mule in Santa Monica yesterday…no rear wing and did NOT have any of this toothy grill nonsense. Quite a bit of camo; fake horizontal bars in front. Who knows which model or what stage of development it was in. Sorry no pics…TBH was focused on the car carrier full of Grenadiers following and didn’t actually notice the 911 in time to pull out my phone.

It was possibly equipped with the new Sport Design front bumper cover?

Yes! Looked just like that with two horizontal bars and seemingly nothing behind them. I’m not convinced it’s the Sport Design front bumper, however.

It’s not nothing, but the new Panamera just was unveiled in China.

Interior is as expected lots of new Cayenne influence and shifter has moved to the dash in the Taycan / Cayenne position.

Heavy influence on hybridization and headlights give an idea of what to expect on the 992.2 with horizontal LED elements.

The new body control system was implied to only be compatible with hybrids as it needs the 400V battery to make it work.

Get used to this gauge cluster…

The gauge cluster is the design from the 996/997/991 era only in 100% digital form. I also see the US configurator already has the new Panamera/Panamera 4 up and a new shade called "Oak Green Metallic Neo" is offered. Seems the same play Porsche did with Ruby Star Neo.

Sidebar: I am not a fan of the styling changes to the Panamera. Porsche seems to be falling into the trap so many other auto manufacturers love to fall into which is to go all over the body and insert creases and styling lines just to make the design different. To have the body creases down the side is truly uncharacteristic of a Porsche (setting aside new 992 GT3 RS / S/T where potentially one could rationale them solely on the basis of aero needs).

I do not see why it would not be, as the other design has been repeatedly photographed via spy pics. How does PAG increase revenue? Easy… offer the other, more subtle design as a more attractive option over the less desirable, polarizing, standard offering. A win, high demand for the sport design = more revenue generated.

So, pay extra not to have an ugly car. Perfect!
