I like to check on this thread from time to time because it never fails to aggregate the most useless information about Porsche. Rarely ever disappoints.

Only a 4 year run for the 994? Doesn't sound right, unless they believe 2032 is the all EV cutoff. At that point, the 911 is no more in my opinion. Just another battery sled with electric motors, all the decades of engineering to perfect the rear engine chassis and drivetrain, vanishes at that point. In the all EV world, other manufacturers will produce "sports" cars based on the same chassis as every other EV, and for alot less money than the 998. eFuel is the only hope to save the real 911.

I agree with you @nyca … also, where is 994.2?

I consider the article a well informed speculation with some journo license and wishful renderings.

However, where is a smoke… 992.2 is coming!
My OPC is saying in 2-years, I suspect it’s much sooner.

In agreement as well. The Taycan as the Porsche EV pilot program and while somewhat unique to other EVs in build quality and offering a single speed transmission - I’m starting to see these cars build up in dealer inventories. And competition is just beginning to ramp up, people seem more concerned with range, automated driving and non drive related onboard entertainment.

Watch the recent “60 Minute” episode chronicling a journalist who tried to drive round trip, non-stop (except for recharging) from Boston, Mass. to Portland, Maine. It will make anyone considering a plug in EV to rethink the decision……for now, at least.

Hey gang, so what's the deal with the $8,300 price increase for the base Carrera? Was it for 2023s, or it's for 2024s? The configurator already reflects the higher base price of $114,400 (vs $106,100), but what year is it??? The darn site doesn't even say; that's a bit scammy. I configured one at $135K+ with the higher base price, and thought it was insane for a base Carrera. And dealer wants to tack on 15 grand on top of that; no way I'm paying a penny over, especially when there are folks paying MSRP for a GTS. So will wait a few months if needed, and see what happens with the market.

Probably another price increase given how the Porsche executive team is talking.

I’m happy I got a 23 and missed the 24 price increase, let alone whatever else is coming. Even though 23 had a significant price increase itself.

Maybe Porsche has this all figured out.
Constant massive price increases.

No one’ll complain because they’re too busy being happy they missed the next one.

That's such a straw man argument.

How many people with ICE vehicles actually make that 112 mile, nearly 2 hour, commute on any type of regular basis? Probably no one. And by regular I mean at least 2-3x a week, which is the typical use case of an ICE vehicle.

Saying its impractical for an EV to commute long distances (i.e. over 100 miles) is like saying a 911 is really not good at towing.

There hasn't been much news on the .2s lately, considering they should be coming in a few month's time. I wonder if the full digital dash is still a thing.

I’m sure the 922.2 dash will be all digital, which is a shame; but they botched the 992.1 dash and with VW pushing cost cutting and parts sharing, I’m sure Porsche will follow Audi in this regard.

What part of the 992.1 is botched, the fact it's impossible to see the outer two dials? Or something else
