That tach looks awful. Can't they even keep the traditional font for the tach? Good Lord it looks like a Corvette tach.

Matching the tach to the PDK shifter. They are both awful.

I was thinking of waiting for the 992.2 (due to cosmetic changes like center exhausts and likely power bump) but glad I ended up getting a 992.1 due in April instead.
The digital tach looks fine in the many Taycans I have driven (matches other screens etc) but out of place in the 911. No doubt it can be customized nicely and have great functionality but...

So far it looks like..

- minimal power bump, big whoop, maybe due to some hybridization electric power
- The 992.2 cars with a 8 speed PDK probably not gonna get the GT type shifter that’s married to the 7 speed PDK sport
- Center exhaust on a Carrera tends to make the rear end look a bit more narrow and small (at least it did for the 991.2 models.)
- It’s gonna take some cues from the Taycan like the digital tachometer, which is not ideal
- if there is any hybridization, it’s gonna add weight to the car
- it’s doubtful that the car will be the same price or cheaper
- if there’s any complex technical changes, like electricity, or hybridization both have a higher probability of first model issues

A Taycan has a tachometer? What rpms are we monitoring here?

Power bump would have to be upwards of 30 hp to really move the needle. On the GTS 992.2 not sure how else they would do it other than bigger turbos if not going hybrid.

Well…electric motors have RPM too, believe it or not. But no, there’s no tach in the Taycan. It’s a power meter (although, I think it’s probably actually showing current, but not 100% sure).

Expect a gas particulate filter like the Euro models now have.

Hopefully it's like the 718s here where the gpf is unmonitored and you can remove it and trash it

Being that I loathe electric/hybrid cars, here's a video I'd like to believe. Enjoy.

@Smirnoff67 , I'd like to believe it, too, for the same reason! Thanks for sharing.
