992.2 April 2024 Release
#301
I believe I've read that the lack of MT in the base variants C2/C4 is so manage emissions/fuel economy as applied to overall production numbers.

Sorry, VR, but I detected no intent to disrespect. We are fellow Porsche enthusiasts. We can enjoy each other's company on this website without being mean, can't we?
If only we could have a 992 with the NA 4.0 from the 718. Hard to believe Porsche developed that motor only for relatively short lived use in the 718 GT4 and 718 GTS.
Amen, and it should have MT available as an option. PDK only base model is awful. I know we now have the T but that's not a replacement for a base 992 with MT. Plenty of people--myself included--thought the base 991.2 with MT and few options was a very satisfying and "relatively affordable" sports car.
God bless us all,
TT

Funny that everything is going hybrid and still people here hope for a NA manual base model 911 lol. Sorry but that is not going to happen. Only hope that the GT3 will be NA (and it will probably). But no more manual and definitely no NA for the standard Carrera. Hybrid is confirmed and I have seen pictures of it (as well as the digital dash). So there is no real escape from this I’m afraid. I am sure the performance will be brilliant. Nobody is doubting this. But the weight will be hard to ignore.
And the base model 911 is anything but awful.

Yes! What is awful is it is no longer available with MT.
Same here. The T is a fabulous car, but I had to go to an S to get MT and the suspension and colors I wanted. And spend thousands more than a similarly equipped base 911. I'm guessing someone at Porsche is smiling!

Not sure where they are getting GTS. It’s clearly 5 lug, front fascia doesn’t look like anything different or spectacular. Maybe they know something we don’t?? Or maybe they know less than they should..
brakes are huge tho..
