I feel your frustration as I too was hoping for a new delivery to be fairly soon after the ship fire. 2-3 months was what I was hoping for especially after Porsche was going to "prioritize" replacement builds. Guess I was way wrong. My replacement cars build date is mid June! Then another couple months for transport and dealer delivery. And that is if all goes well. So at the moment, it will be ANOTHER 6 months.

While I do empathize for those affected by the tragedy that struck the Felicity Ace, I also understand Porsche’s position of not wanting to upset those who have been waiting and/or who are already in the queue. There’s no easy approach.

I hope I hear the same in the next 48. My TMD disappeared yesterday but no new commission number yet.

Seems that every article I read in the press about the FA talks about the ship “on the move and drifting out to sea”.

Any speculation as to why the crew didn’t drop the anchors before abandoning ship?

Probably don't have enough rope to anchor in water that deep.

I hear most cars in the lower decks did not catch on fire, thought they may stink due to the smoke. I wonder what would they do with the cars they can salvage.

Completely sucks. I’ve already waited 6 months and would go with a different car but what is better than a 911?

Gents-Please clear this up for me. Are the orders apparently lost on the FA going to take priority over other orders or not? Thanks

Not fully, no……nor do I think it’s fair that they all should either. That’s not to say that I don’t empathize with those who lost their cars. It’s a horrible situation for everybody.

I think they are prioritizing the builds as much as possible. From a logistics point of view, the production line is roughly locked 2 months in advance so that they can procure parts for their just on time manufacturing process. They don’t stock pile parts. I think it would be May/June when they could start building the cars. Sorry for anyone who lost a car.

Looks like some owners are getting free upgrades as compensation?

VW Group Dealers Notifying People Their New Car Burned Out In Ship Fire (msn.com)

"It's going to cause us even more shipping delays because we now have one less transport vessel," a Porsche dealer from suburban Philadelphia told Automotive News. In order to compensate a customer for an expected four-month delay in the delivery of his brand new Cayenne, the dealer had to upgrade the vehicle to the Platinum trim at no cost. “The Platinum is more expensive than the original order. But we are keeping the pricing the same for the customer."

Too many factors are coming into play to expect logistics to improve. I appreciate that Porsche will be trying to make everyone happy but I cannot imagine replacement vehicles being delivered anytime soon. They still have a chip shortage. The world supplier markets will be adversely affected by the Russia/Ukraine conflict. Vehicles are sitting at Port Emden likely waiting for missing parts before they are shipped.

Not a good situation. Pay the going rate and find a good preowned Porsche and weather this storm.

Nick had 2 911's that had horrible electrical issues. Very odd since 911 is in general is best for reliability.
