What else would we have to post incessantly about if not wringing our hands about the availability of options and technical errors in the configurator? We've got months to fill here...

I have a friend who is going to the LA Auto show this week. What should we have him check out and take pics of? I could have him ask them about the gas tank sizing. Porsche already confirmed LWB's are coming, PTS is not. What else?

Don't expect it on the T. It's not advertised or mentioned anywhere. But I'll have him ask.

dashcam install is actually a mindless job, however, working around the TIGHT "fit and finish" of the trim pieces/pillars brings much f-bombs and contorting. based on my independent experience in the 991!

What I find interesting about this is they currently offer it on a base Carrera per the configurator. So, it makes no sense why they wouldn't offer it on a specialty car like the T. Also, it was offered as an option on the 991.2 T. Whole thing just seems ill conceived and/or poorly executed.

Some LWBS info from a previous thread

Go to Post 34 for the exact seat weights

I sold my 991.2 T and am on the list for a 992 T, but am considering upgrading to a Carrera S. I know there are some threads on the T vs S, but wanted to ask here if any owners of either had driven both (991.2 T and 991.2 S or 992 S) and what your observations are. I think there is a lot of talk of the smaller turbos spooling up faster but I have not seen any technical data to support this.

There are posts showing torque curves of a C2 vs C2S. Let me see if I have it... ah, here it is. Notice that it's just that the C2 has a flatter curve, so it likely feels more linear, immediate power like a non-turbo.

Some apple to orange thoughts. Still fruit, but... I drove a 992 S (and a 4S, separately) back-to-back on COTA with my T... There is NO DOUBT the 992 is a faster car. But you can definitely feel the size and weight difference. It is faster at the top end of things, but not as responsive and the extra weight and turbo lag (even in sport and sport+, particularly in the 4S) played a part. A very small part, but when you are paying attention to it, you will notice. Honestly, below 100, the speed/power of the S is negated by the responsiveness and the more visceral feel of the T. All the more so since that is the reality that most people find themselves in a vast majority of the time. You can track/autox/etc. these cars, but why would you do that a majority of the time when there are a lot of better platforms, either cheaper or more expensive (depending on your situation), for that role.... One huge difference to me was the lack of FBs in those S's... Such a small thing but play a huge part in the drive and feel of the car.

Above said, it is really going to come down for the driving impressions for me. These should roll out in-force this week when the embargo is lifted. If the 992 T actually uses the enhancements they made to the 992, without sacrificing the secret sauce we have in the 991 T (driver engagement, lightness, responsiveness, fun), then it's a winner and deserves all the praise/love/devotion that our cars have. I do believe they have watered it down a bit for this generation (not as many one off or motorsport products you could ONLY get on a T previously; possibly no PCCBs or FBs; etc.) and that feels a bit lame duck to me... And I won't even get into the whole MT vs PDK thing, as there is even less reason to spec a 992 T without the MT now IMO. But in the end all of those nice to have options, while they enhance the drive performance, don't mean a lot to many people who don't want them and/or the car still gives you a permagrin without them and based on what Porsche has once again created. All the more so for someone getting a stripper T just to have a great Swiss Army Knife of a car that can really do it all. Just a few more days to begin to see and hear...

I would love an S or GTS but seriously for the street, I am not sure I can ever use that much power. Even the T (underrated hp) is plenty me thinks. Is it the fastest thing? Nah but the way it delivers power might be among the best.

Ok I'm torn. Here are two builds. Yes there's a big price difference but until I see more T allocations open up and this talk of ADM goes away, the S with PCCBs and a couple other nice things in on the table.

Love both of those specs. The T is lightweight and pure, the S is faster, probably not much heavier and it's more luxurious with the nicer leather interior. Can't really go wrong with either, I guess it comes down to which one gets an allocation first?

Don't want your T to look like a T?
