@Cartod Its masterfully done, Id say it is worth making many many replicas and restoring old Porsches and keeping such a great car even for today's time alive
Felt like a rocket ship at the time but was 381 bhp - almost identical to my new T!
Your gt3 looks spectacular! and it's really amazing how similar they look, I think that the nostalgia you'll get will be huge! also, the T has similar horsepower compared to the gt3 so I'd like to hear your thoughts on how well it drives and how it feels compared to it

It's 20 years ago so time fades some of the memories but no doubt that car was alive at the top end (similar to current GT3's I guess) but the T has much more punch lower down the rev range for sure. The other immediate impression is that the 992 just has so much more mechanical grip and just feels so completely planted. Drove that 996 on track a few times so will have to wait to take the T on track to compare near or at the limit.
Ha, I was thinking the same thing. Real or fake? Don’t know enough about them to know for certain. Just know my friend’s is the real thing. He’s an industry guy and he wouldn’t lie about it. Love the curves on it ha, even if replica.
Yeah, bankers are addicted to coffee and love sports cars. Remember the countach in Wolf of Wall Street?
Of course, but I really don't like that version of it. The "25th Anniversary"...yuck. And when you think it was Pagani who designed the exterior. The 5000 QV, or even the original "non flared wheel arches" LP400, look a lot better.
Regarding the 356, you can tell them apart from inside (the "pedal box" is more square in the real thing) or by "feeling it up" - the real ones are wearing "metal", replicas are dressed in fiberglass. Etc. Not important. The air cooled engine sound must have been intoxicating.
I used to go to Stuttgart, to attend the "sound nights" at the Porsche museum.
I was not anticipating to be this impatient already... I'm only a little over 1 week into the waiting process post dropping off for shipping and already trying to figure out if I have any shot at making the next 2 boats. I don't know why I had convinced myself that the buzz from the ED trip would last me at least a few weeks... but I can confirm that I only made it 1 week lol. I WANT MY CAR BACK!!!
This is precisely what would drive me bat sh$t crazy with anticipation!!

Nice 6GT3! However, your new car will destroy it. Mine may be able to keep up in fast courses but doubtful in technical courses. The new cars are extremely capable. That's why I laugh when people start splitting hairs over base vs T vs S vs GTS etc. Case in point...

As someone who dailies a 991.1, and will daily the 992.1T, just suck it up and daily the T!
Life is too short to buy a 2nd car to prevent wear on the 1st, unless the 2nd vehicle gives you more enjoyment. From a monetary standpoint, the depreciation you save on the 1st vehicle, you spend on the second, plus you have storage, maintenance, insurance, registration and other costs.
At the end of the day, the numbers are probably really close, and the smiles per minute in a car you love, vs one that you like… it’s priceless.
Edit: especially as you want to spend $50k or a bit less, just take the $15-25k hit in depreciation over the next 6 years and put miles on your 992T. GO FOR IT!!!
My T will share daily rotation with an f80 m3, the 72t, and an Audi urq.
it was loaded on a truck in Houston this morning on the way to Colorado. Will visit it on Friday in Colorado Springs among the pikes peak festivities.

Also, on the same track, but in dry and driven by Sutcliffe, the G82 M4 Competition does a 43:70 (1s quicker than the 992 Carrera, at 44:70) and the 718 GT4 a 43:90.
GT3 Touring vs Carrera T (991.2), at Modena.
1.03,0 min vs 1.01,4 min
While I patiently waited the 6 weeks from arrival at our Benecia Port until PECLA delivery last week, I've enjoyed seeing pics of your deliveries, reading about your time spent enjoying your cars, Toph's ED experience, etc.... mine is FINALLY home and I'm already in love!
Delivery Experience was amazing so well worth the 6 week wait! They let the little lady and I split the 90 mins track time (she took 30, I went 60 of course). The hardest part about the entire trip was leaving the car parked at the hotel the following day while we went to Disneyland Took the longer, scenic route via 1, to 101, to 154 through Los Padres National Forest and stopped at Pismo Beach for some quarts of our favorite clam chowder (Splash Cafe) on our way back to the Bay Area. Car goes in for PPF next week! Brought a roll of Trak Armour to PECLA and spent about 45 minutes wrapping the front of the car once the delivery experience was over. Horrible job but it served its purpose and man, do I have a new found respect for PPF installers.
That's a Gen 1 - mine was Gen 2 - can't remember all the differences now without looking it up but still sounding glorious.
Me at the Ring c2005
The car in the video is also a Gen 2 (for example, look at 1:12).
Yeap, I recognize the "old" Ring. Looks like Kallendhard, but not 100% sure. Pitty that they continued to resurface and reshape corner, now it's got more faster and lost some character (and a jump).
