No track time to report but, a Tail of the Dragon report instead.
Finally got past 1800 miles under 4K rpm, (AKA 3 months in Purgatory) on the way to NC. The entire area around Robbinsville, NC is possibly the best off track driving on the east coast. There are numerous well documented loops in the area. The Dragon is a blast. Smooth, curvy, lots of elevation changes, short straights, 11 miles long, 300+ turns and everyone seems very courteous. The scenery is spectacular. If you get the chance, GO!
As for the T, I am totally impressed. Under 4K its groovy. On a curvy road with camber and elevation changes its extraordinary. The level of grip and composure is hard to believe. The car cannot be upset, at least not easily. Power and delivery are incredible, other than the early and abundant torque there are no indications this is a turbo engine. The car is quick without leaning on it. A gentle hand, smooth inputs and moderate throttle give an impressive and very fun ride.
My very first 911 , in 1982, was a silver 1972T with the S package. It made me smile every time I got behind the wheel. I bought this car seeking the same and am very happy to report that it has exceeded every expectation.
A few other observations. I had more instant on radar and laser hits on the way up than in the past 5 years on all my other cars combined. Avoiding tickets means being a 60th percentile driver in this car. Thats a big ask. It's painful getting passed by a Prius! Yes it happened, No one will care but, 30mpg at 75mph is a very realistic number, even with an occasional hard pass.
Now back to BORING South FL. roads. Enjoy your T and if you get a chance go look at some Dragon videos on You Tube.

Love the T-shirt joke and shirt. Also from Europe so will hear about ordering. Maybe group-buy Europe and one shipment.

Love the 7th gear! Casually driving almost 200km/h with only 3000rpm. Crossing the 10.000km tomorrow probably…

I drove all kinds of cars on the track and the easiest one to drive fast, was the "race" car. A M4 GT4 class race car. Not only it behaves A LOT different than the "road cars" (giving you unfiltered feed back about everything and anything), but the race brakes are something you need to experience to believe.
So, that would be my "track toy", if I had to choose.

https://carsandbids.com/auctions/rwg...arrera-t-coupe

First one up on the auction sites that I am aware of. Will be a good guage of current demand for the car. Curious to see where this ends up. My guess is about MSRP plus auction fees.

I didn't mention this deciding factor: I need a car that can be driven to/from the track as I don't feel like buying a pick up truck and trailer too. I don't want a BMW anything, so turned off on that marque.

Since u asked. No biggie if the answer is no.
1) can he do this in a medium grey shirt? Also as an option. If I order Black T then won’t see car outline on black shirt. But maybe if medium grey, Black car outline and White lettering may pop?
2) Could he add lettering “PORSCHE” to the other blank sleeve? Ha, u thought I’d spell it Porsha
example…

Lol. I thought about pointing out that the cold start video isn't cold start. Or at least mine idles at 1500 rpm for so long when going through the cold start sequence...and that sounds way lower than 1500 rpm. But I'm just watching this one from the sidelines.

If you can live with "buckets", louder exhaust and interior, harder suspension and squeaky brakes until you reach the desired track, anything can be transformed into near "race car". Also, with the new generation of "semi slicks", people are running out of talent before they run out of grip (I see the wildest of lines sometimes and they still pull it off. Not fast, but at least they do not end up in the Armco)
The remaining question is "how high" are your expectations and driving talent, which race tracks will you be visiting, etc and you can start searching for your "fun car".

I was not recommending a BMW, I was recommending a race car, a GT or anything similar.
They must have done you good, if you "hate" them that much. I still own one, it's fun, the last outing on Nordschleife, in the new G80 Competition was also fun. Locally, the after sales sucks, also you really need to be on top of your game when you bring the car in for maintenance or be able to point out what you want repaired, otherwise you get surprises.

Ha, we should all inundate the buyers on BaT with our expert T knowledge and why people are trading in S and GT3 for it. May drive the final bid up to $200K!

As good as the Dragon is - I had more fun on the road from the end of the Dragon to Fontana Village…

Also did you check www.killboy.com to see if Killboy got photos of you driving the Dragon?

I always loved the idea of having something I could drive to the track, hammer it all day, then drive home. Then I wanted more and wanted to actually compete with others, so I built something dedicated and trailered it. That started as my '72 but it became clear that early cars would shoot up in value. So I picked up an older SC for ~$10K and in the end didn't have a ton of $$ invested (under $25k including buying 2 sets of fikses, custom cage install, etc) and could wad it up and walk away without feeling too gutted. The performance of racing brakes mentioned - a lot of that has to do with aggressive pad compounds, fluid, and ultimately the tires.

I will probably take my 992-T out for a track day or two. And I still need to take my F80 M3 out to see how it does. But having something dedicated and dialed in sure is nice.
