haven’t ordered yet but pretty close to it. They’re fitting it on a volunteered 992 at the end of June though, thinking if I should wait until that happens or yolo it. Waiting would probably mean July order then Aug-Sep delivery, so weighing having the summer with it vs. rolling the dice.
prep and paint, install, I’d expect maybe august to be rolling. Heck I’m probably going to leap.

Re your point on what happens at +5000rpm. An instructor at Porsche Experience Centre told me that variable valve timing changes the timing squeezing extra bit of power and making the engine howl. Fuel mapping and ignition timing amplifies the VVT for a spectacular effect.
My own observation: it releases dopamine in our brain and that is how we get hooked on petrol flat six.

It was more of a rhetorical question. That region of the tachometer will get explored later, next month.
Regarding the valves, you can change the timing, the duration and also the "lift". It affects torque, hp, sound, etc. Earlier, longer and "deeper" opening on the intake valves, with some overhang with open exhaust valves too, will give that howl at high rpm. And more hp. Because the exhaust valves will also open earlier and longer, torque will drop but you don't need it at high rpm anyway.

You just missed some bonus points not adding pictures.
I drove a slow part yesterday on a 80km/h road and made it to 1:15,3. That is 6,5l/100km. That is 36mpg (USA). Insane! So I am changing my plan from 1100km on one range to 1200 range on screen.
FYI: I don’t have that whistle you mentioned. TIP: try turning of the airco and see if it remains.

But some stints to the Ring and maybe Stuttgart will provide plenty of opportunities for some nice photo ops.
That's a mpg that even Greta will approve! From the moment the engine is warmed up, the car is sipping gasoline.
I will try it later next week, but even if it works...no AC while over 120 mph? Nocantdo...that's where I spent my time during drives on the autobahn, 140-170 mph.

Just to be clear: I am not approaching them at an angle and just slowing down a bit. Most of them I can take with 30 or 40km/h. Just the ferry on an angle. And we must not forget that if we scrape the car we only scrape the $199 black plastic lip that Porsche intended swapping easily.
I am not suggesting taking speedbumps at high speed and at an angle. That would be 911 Dakar territory, in professional hands.
What I am suggesting is approaching steep driveways, ramps and small curbs… at an angle. Crawling one wheel at the time avoids front-end bottoming and scraping the road.
Having said that, I have some large speedbumps in my neighbourhood that at speed would get my front wheels airborne. Those I approach at 5-10mph at an angle, if traffic allows.

I slept on it, Triggered pulled. There’s a dozen other orders placed ahead of me. They’ll make final tweaks on fitment after the test unit before production.
