So we clearly all have been pushed. The response given from Porsche has been quoted by me in my last post so you can look that up. I should hear something beginning of this week if all goes well and will give an update to the rest.
About the leather/cloth discussion: I also am a big fan of leather, just can’t beat that usually. The reason I like cloth in my 911 is because of the grip. When driving crazy like me the difference in grip is clearly noticeable. And of course I could never live without the “911” logo in the seats (unless I could add the Porsche weapon, which you can’t in the T).
Strangely I find myself in the opposite camp to many of you guys. I’m the one delaying collection of my car.
It was due to be ready for collection this Friday but I’ve just requested that the dealer PPF’s the car in the knowledge it will delay collection by 10 more days due to the waiting list.
I woke up sweating last night in a nightmare about my car getting stone chip damage in between collection and taking it to the PPF company locally (30 miles away).
So I’m getting the dealer to do it at twice the price to avoid more nightmares.
I the believe the 991 T was originally a hard sell due in part to dealers really not understanding how to properly configure it. History might be repeating itself here with some of these examples. Perhaps they just don't understand the T ethos.
My thinking would be to have at least a mix of MT/PDK, sunroof/slick top and backseat delete units. Eventually though, they'll sell all of them because there really is an *** for every seat...
I thinks it's more the dealers not having enough stock to sell and knowing that a T will be a quicker turn around than a base. Order them PDK with 4 seats and then brainwash the punter into thinking he's getting some sort of special edition.
Logged into both MyPorsche App and the website this morning, hoping for an update on my final pictures...
The MyPorsche App finally updated to show my car in Leipzig (As the website has been showing since last week)... but still no pictures of the completed car.

LOL. I had the same kind of dilemma and ended up putting tracwrap on it temporarily until it got PPF'd by my detailer. Much cheaper and you avoid the potentially not so good job the dealer will do.

Figured the group would appreciate this video... But also made me think "Why do you torture us with 2 inferior brands of tires in a game of roulette??" Just give us all our "Soul Mate" (as Porsche calls them) from Factory!
And if I can add one more suggestion. My detailer actually volunteered to come to the dealership and put the TracWrap on himself. He couldn't get me in on the schedule for a couple of weeks so I took him up on it. Ordered the TracWrap and just brought it with me day of purchase.
Thanks Ikone - I'd never heard of tracwrap.
Sounds like could be the ideal temporary solution and apparently peels off easily enough -Will do more research

Yes. It's an Xpel product. My detailer had reached out to a rep and asked about any negative effects of keeping it on for a few weeks and he said 'no'. It will at some point just fall off since it has a much lighter adhesive. I had it on for a couple of weeks. Detailer had no issues whatsoever. Easier to take off than regular PPF. If I ever order a 992T and do ED, I will definitely be doing the TracWrap.
You can see from this photo I added tracwrap when I picked up my Targa from PECATL and drove it back to the Northeast. I would highly suggest having two people there to help. Truly was a PITA to put on, especially dealing with all the angles. Really makes you appreciate the installers skill and why it costs so much.
Maybe I was just very slow, but took me basically 2 hours to apply the front, side rockers and rear arches...
Having serious remorse at this point. Ended up selecting ventilated seats, but when I did order it wasn’t reflecting the change to complete leather. Tried reaching out to dealer to remove the ventilated seats and they’re saying to late. Apart of me is thinking losing the sporttex seats takes away the specialty of the t build. But then dealer is sayin the sporttex sucks and leather is better . Build is at v220 now and locked on the 9th of March. Not sure exactly what I’m looking for lol but just curious if I’m overthinking the fact of losing sporttex
thanks for hearing me out and allowing me to vent

A great idea!! I’m picking mine up tomorrow but because it was early I’m not booked into PPF until next Thursday.
Just had a friend pick up three large stone chips on the front of his brand new Type R in the ‘not got round to it yet’ PPF stage. Gutted.
