So saw this in the comments section from the Youtube video that was posted. The redline on the digital display is approximately 6800. The T has a redline of 7500 and the Cayman/Boxster 4.0 has a redline of 8000. Something doesn't add up. You would think the redline should be higher for a naturally aspirated engine. Maybe its set there to throw us off.

6800 redline is incredibly low and disappointing if true

Perhaps the redline is dynamic based on engine temp and other factors? A la e46 M3.

From the screenshot, the coolant looks to be 194°F / 90°C and the oil temperature is 221°F / 105°C. So I'd say both are warmed up pretty well!

There's also a boost pressure shown. 0 psi because only idling, but they wouldn't show boost pressure if no forced induction.

So what are thoughts on those of you planning on doing PPF and the Carrera T door decals. Even though I may only do the full frontal, I am debating whether to exclude the bottom portion of either front fender where there is a small portion of decal. I am planning on keeping the vehicle long term. From my research it seems that if the PPF ever had to be changed the decals would likely come off with the PPF. I wonder how easy it would be to replicate the decal or possibly purchase a spare set from parts and reapply if I decide to PPF the entirety of the front fenders or the whole car.

Wow so if that's all true and the 992.1 and specifically the T is the last of the Carrera cars with turbos and analog tach before the 992.2 with a na 4.0 and tycan dash launches, it's kind of even more unique and charming to me. We'll see, but I'm by no means second-guessing my desire for the 992.1 T.

The rumors seem to point to a possible NA 4.0 in the 911 ST, as a lightweight special throwback recalling 73 RS type of car. If true, it will be very expensive and very rare. I don't see how a 4.0 NA makes sense in a Carrera, unless it is a significantly detuned and lower RPM motor paired with a hybrid electric for torque fill. Who knows, they could pull something out of the blue but a high performance 4.0 NA manual trans Carrera seems very unlikely to me. Isn't that the GT3 touring?

I'm skeptical of those reports. First, Porsche went to turbos for emissions and efficiency requirements. And they did a great job with the turbo motors. Remember earlier that some thought the T would be 4.0 NA? Something about tail pipe spacing? How far off were those rumors?

Second, I love turbos at altitude and for later in life tunability - and love the 992 non-GTs because it has turbos. Maybe blasphemy but it is one of the big reasons I wouldn't want a GT3...I don't need a track car. I want something torquey and fun and great on the street.

The ST for all intents and purposes is confirmed to be a gt3 rs motor with a manual transmission along with significant lightweighting i.e. carbon fiber hood etc. without the aero.
