992 Carrera T Club

I'm now taking consolation in the fact that my build lock date is likely after I'll get to see some of the photos from people's cars here in case I see options I need to reconsider. Exciting!

Nobody on here (unless I've missed it?) has specced the front axle lift.
In the UK where I live I think I'll need it, particularly with the 10mm lower suspension.
I have it on my Taycan and it's occasionally needed in Sport and quite often Sport+, but hard to know if the T will need it??
Any thoughts anyone that's got / had a Taycan and can compare?

I live in Florida so everything is ultra flat so no need for FAL down here

I'll be the base line for lack of FAL since my car will be lowered on a KW HAS kit soon after I receive it.
Decided not to do FAL since my current 992 is on the same kit and in a year of ownership I've only found one place that I was too nervous to attempt...

i will add it together with sun visors. Expensive options but will round the spec nicely

I will not be speccing the lower sports design bumper, I believe FAL is required for that, after seeing standard bumpers at my opc it's no lower than my previous 718 GTS which I had no problems with.
I suppose it's upto your needs and requirements but it's additional weight and cost that you may not need
(unless you're not a T ethos guy like myself 😉

I have it on my 991.2 T and need it everyday here in AL. In fact one time construction workers installed a pipe across the width of flat road and didn’t mark it. Hit the front chin/lip spoiler because I didn’t activate it in time. Mine is painted so it was noticeable. I think it adds 20lbs but I’d would do it on every PCar (non SUV) if available. It also helps if you plan on trailering your T at any time, those ramp angles can be challenging. But to several points above, maybe it’s not necessary where you live but it’s a gut wrenching sound if/when your wrong.

I have it spec'd on mine, haven't had experience with it before but my house has a prominent apron into the garage and I need all the help I can get for pulling in and out of there. 16" drop over a 60" run from the alley, fine for the Defender but for the 911 not ideal!
Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to fix the approach vs. buying RAS for one place on your route?

Not really. Project costs to redo the apron were approx $2K from 2 bidders and it requires a City permit since it encroaches on the alley and also would only net me approx 1" lower rise. That 1" might still not solve the issue and I won't have any way of knowing until the job would be done which would be weeks after my freeze date. So FAL is the better option.

This. It looks incredibly easy to replace and I may just keep a spare in the garage if it ever gets to me (and probably won't). And I have a very steep approach on my driveway and all around Seattle for some stupid reason.

I think I've replaced the black plastic lip 2-3 times across a couple 911s and a cayman. Best design element Porsche has ever done for its customers is make that a ~$200 piece and make it a DIY job... They could easily push everyone into the FAL category if they made it one piece bumper or made it a painted standard piece, but until then I will skip FAL, avoid problem entry areas and not worry about it.

My 2015 Cayman has Sport Suspension which is 20mm lower than normal and scrapes all over town if not very careful. I have learned to live with it and the 911 should be cake by comparison. I approach everything at an angle and never pull all the way up in a parking spot. But yes i have destroyed a few front lips and not buying FAL
