I might be reading your comment wrong, but Porsche announced that the Carrera T with Manual is 80lbs lighter than Carrera T with PDK...

That’d be right, thats pretty much the same difference as between a PDK S and a manual S. I was meaning the curb weight of a manual T vs a manual S. There’s only 40lb between them before options.

My wife keeps asking me to switch my car to PDK so that she can drive it

I reminded her she drove manual for years with no issue and she's just not interested in doing it ever again apparently.

Its a safety feature... no one can carjack you because no one knows how to drive them anymore lol. Maybe that will help you sell her on it... Or go the route of this being one of the only cars on the market left offering it, and therefore it may be a collectors item some day (thats a harder sell, I know)... For me, the stick is just too special to pass up on this particular variant of the 911. Good luck, hope she comes around for you.

I already told her no lol

She's driven my manual Cayman around no problem

Is the larger fuel tank a must?

Do you plan on doing track days?
My current 992 got about 350 miles of range with the smaller tank, however, if I was driving mostly in sport/sport plus or doing a track day it was much lower... If you went to a normal track day with 3 sessions, I was seeing a gas light come on after session 2... So I am adding the extended range tank so I can avoid having to pay the insane track side gas prices going forward. Should pay for itself in a couple track days alone.

I would not buy any 911 without the extended range fuel tank.

It's nice filling up less often

If you do track days, as mentioned above you're getting below 9mpg easily so gas disappears fast and having to cut a session short or get either expensive trackside gas or leave the facility and find a gas station is annoying

If you do road trips, it gives you more flexibility on where and when to stop.

It's not a must have for everyone but it's nice enough for me that I think it's worth the $230

He Scott. I think you missed my post about this a few days back and the reactions to this.

Agree. Sometimes I looked at my 991.2 T and could not immediately tell if they were clean or dirty.

Trust me this really would be amazing! And don’t listen to the guy telling you to leave out the extended door panel in leather. This is vital when you go for leather with deviating stitching. Don’t go half way please. And add the inner sill door guards as well. I do think however you made a mistake with the calculation and are counting the 2 interior styles double. When you go for this option I would also leave out the interior trim in exterior color.

I don’t want to disrespect anybody. All have opinions. But to me the T is special because of the agatha grey colors and decals. Taking the decals away, putting the rear seat back, leaving out the badge behind and ordering the PDK. Then why not just buy the S with more power and better breaks? So I am in the T decal camp. It makes it more special to me compared to the other models.

I bought a PDK twice for my wife after owning a manual T. But she never drove them more. So I told her back to manual again

Locked in the final build with my dealer yesterday! No more changes…build date on 3/17. Not on the build sheet but obviously 7-speed manual… And all the other T features left in like rear seat delete etc (with exception of 18-ways tried to go with all the lightweight options or at least not add back too much.) all the tech stuff has a purpose for me… but most excited about roof, rear seat delete, manual and Ruby!
Taking recommendations for how to fill my free time now that I’m not committing multiple hours a day to this damn configurator lol.
also please recognize the German VAT… I did not go that wild with options haha, an extra $25k on top for that VAT is scary to look at

I heard the German VAT upfront is due to someone that picked up Euro delivery and then just drove off never to be seen again lol

It only takes one person to ruin it for everyone else lol... My dealer said I might be able to just do a credit card hold for it... I really dont want to pull an extra $25K out in cash just for it to sit with them for a week. So stupid

I agree, there are several justifiable approaches for what a T is. To me, it’s a Carrera (base, s or gts) with options that allow you that maximize street driving satisfaction. Any more power or brakes serve little benefit for the cost, but PTV and a manual do. So badging, decals, etc. don’t change that that’s it’s a type of Carrera (although I’m keeping the rear badge). In reality, it’s a set of specs that Porsche should have allowed on these various models anyways so why do you need an extra pronouncement these other Carreras don’t have?

But in any case, I still think it looks good and like maintaining the gray accents so I continue mulling it over. Thanks to everyone for chiming in.
