I went down this path... Started with GT Silver then got interested in IGM... Went through all 30 odd pages of IGM pics on the Taycan forum and was all about it but then decided that after owning a black Porsche and white Porsche, I need some color! Now I'm I'm locked in on Shark Blue.
I'm excited to see IGM in person, since I've heard it has a lot more blue tone to it in person than is captured in photos. My dealer has a GTS that just came in, apparently with a similar interior to my T build.
I thought about Shark, but I'd really prefer a slightly more subdued blue - Oslo, Manaus, etc. So disappointed that they killed PTS.
If I do decide to make the switch, I think it makes sense also to switch to the black contrasting exterior trim. I bet your GTS will look amazing. When do you get it?

the manager at my dealer just bought himself a beautiful Ice Grey Metallic 992. I can confirm there is a lot of blue in it compared to other greys. it is a great color, but I think I would get a little bored of it personally. Ice was the right descriptive word, its that faint blue tone and in different lights (darker lights) it looks like a darker shade of blue/grey. I had gentian blue on my current 992 and its just like how that changes from electric blue to very purple depending on the light. Metallic is so interesting like that

I love Gentian, but we have the Taycan GTS ST in that colour already, so I'm not sure I want two cars the same colour. Agreed, Gentian is a beautiful colour. My wife actually hated it in the pictures, but was completely sold when she saw it in person. I wanted Neptune on the Taycan - it would also be a great 911 colour.

This is the pic that sold me on IGM originally (minus the gold). I think it shows off the curves very well.

Yes, high gloss black contrast is a must. I have an allocation for July delivery.
It's funny because we also have a Taycan in Gentian Blue and I also said it's a pity there isn't Neptune Blue for the 992.
Right around the 50min mark they talk about spec'ing the car and for those considering spending the extra money on all the extra leather, this video seems to think that is an area where most people overspend and dont see that come back to them... Again, many of us dont care about the next buyer or resale etc... but still thought it was worth sharing.
The Sport Muffler button revisited: I was watching a video on YouTube of the T, the commentator on Carbuzz said "this car has the sport exhaust as standard and this one (paraphrasing) has the black exhaust tips." So far, so good. Then he went in the car and showed the 5 buttons in the center of the console and there was a button for Sport Exhaust. I wonder then if the Exclusive Design tail pipes are a necessity then to retain that button? Sure doesn't seem like it.
Seeing here all the allocations being given and not hearing from my dealer yet, I was getting a little worried . I started the "T" list there over 2 years ago when I picked up a new Macan GTS. Well yesterday I finally got the text that they have my allocation with an expected April delivery, After building about 200 different iterations over the months, I landed on a fairly simple build with Ice Grey and T interior with lizard. Now I'm hoping for only a few month production run so we all have unicorns.
High Gloss Black... I've learned my lesson with that. I stay away at all costs. What a PITA (Pain in the A$$).
Having high gloss back added for more $$$ on a low riding car, especially on parts of the car that have consistent contact with debris (front splitter, side skirts, mirrors, wheels, and rear side corner), is just asking for it.
High gloss black is the hardest paint color to paint correct and shows the most scratches and paint chips. No thanks.
It looks wonderful in the configurator but in person and the reality of living with it, is not my cup of tea. Respectfully. I lived with too many high-gloss vehicles and trim(on my previous 992) and have learned a life lesson on that.
Colors are fun, and spec'ing cars the way we want them is fun. I like enjoying a car for it's driving ability more than creature comforts. But comforts are, well, comforting, so I get it. Overall, I don't think you get back all the money spent on leather upgrades, but it's very hard to tell because you would need very close comps.
@Scott P the press cars are not to be trusted for comparison purposes. I think they are Euro spec (note the clear turn signals). I was at the dealer last weekend with two friends, one picking up a 2022 GT3 in chalk and a second friend ordered a 911T in Chalk, and I was able to compare black vs bright tail pipes. Both are nice. I'll stick with the bright ones just to accentuate them a bit.
