This is a point I have not been clear on. If you get RAS, do you then get the lithium battery? If so, where is this listed because I do not see it mentioned under rear axle steering in the configurator.

I will definitely be getting CTEK's LiFePO4 maintainer to go with my T. They've proven themselves to me with my lead acid and AGM batteries in the past. Heck, when I got my 996, I didn't change the battery for over 5 years and the build code showed it was over 10 years old!! And my battery tester said it was still in excellent condition.

I haven't seen that point clarified anywhere as to whether the T battery is indeed a lithium cell have you definitively?

It was in all the early marketing releases.

It's in the tech specs online.

Not to argue the point but the only adjective I ever saw describing the battery was "lightweight" and nothing about lithium. The technical specs don't even mention the battery on the configurator.

EDIT: nvm-just found it. Lightweight starter battery LiFePO4 60Ah which is indeed lithium. Thanks for that guys

Got a call 1 hour ago, allocation in, I asked for details on the freeze date and production timeline, all mi SA knows so far is spring delivery but he asked me for a code to enter the order and get me the full deetz...
I was #1 spot at my dealership, changed a c2list spot for T the day after the announcement and it has come true.

will post code later.

If you choose to print your build from the configurator with standard equipment, it shows up under drivetrain features (with or without RAS).

Spoke to my SA, they don't have swatches in for Ruby Star Neo yet. Last thing I need is a Mary Kay car showing up when I take delivery so I will probably stick with GB.

Congrats on another Canadian T. Looking forward to seeing the build. Sounds like they will pretty rare, since my dealer is the largest in Canada and indicated they are getting a tiny number of allocations.

I was thinking absolutely no sunroof and absolutely RAS, but now I'm thinking glass sunroof might be nice for more cabin light and RAS might feel too unnatural for me. My last 911 was a 996 and that was perfection--the more analog the better. I am a bit hesitant on the sunroof
Well I did not know about dealers not having 992 cars to drive. Here in the Netherlands there are around 180 992’s for sale non stop. And there is never a problem in driving them. I guess I can only help when people have certain questions and requests. Of course everybody is more than welcome to come here in the Netherlands and meet me and my car and my friends car. For some of you who come to Germany the Netherlands is pretty close. I am near the city of Arnhem. But it’s a 6 hours drive from Stuttgart. But for some USA people a 6 hour drive to the grocery shop could be normal…

I added the glass sunroof for the black look outside and for the sunlight inside, with closed roof. The interior is pretty dark so any sunlight is more than welcome. Those 30lbs will not do much but kill the T ethos.

As I said previously, I did not like my 996 because of the steering and the very light front end. I know a 992 is 100 years of development away from a 996, but if the RAS helps that spread in a good way, it's probably the right choice for me. If you think my assumptions are correct, or not, I'm certainly open to comments.
If you like the 718 mid-engined driving style being planted and ultra-direct than RAS is definitely your thing. Don’t worry at all. Just remember that the 992 is not light at all at the front. This was already taken out in the 991 mainly and the 992 takes it to the next level. And every 911 has a great chassis. But for the most 718 feel clearly you should go for RAS.

Yes this is all correct and exactly as I stated myself. It’s just plain logic. The GT3 is not made for drifting (although you can, but it’s not made for that purpose) but for moving around the track in the fastest way possible. Most planted and stable and direct chassis, like driving on rails. Sharper. That is exactly what RAS is adding to the 911. So if you like how planted the GT3 is you should go for RAS. You need to accept the somewhat artificial feel though. But nothing you cannot get used to.

Currently have a 1987 911 Carrera and enjoy the analog feel.
Agree. Every 911 is a sportscar no matter how you have specced it. It’s about finesse. That makes the T so desirable amongst a few enthusiasts. But good that you can have it as analog as you want or as planted and stable as possible.
