I would pay more for a car that had better components, after 5 years the warranty expires, anyway, that is when you mod it. If you mod a car you are not trying to sell it later, even then, just switch out the old stuff when you sell it??
I said all that in my first response.
I said if you nitpick then the shocks, turbos, brakes, tune is different but I was not talking about them.
The only thing I was talking about is the engine.
If you think paying 25k more for “The fact that the brakes and springs/dampers and turbos are different” (don’t forget the tune)
Then you’re incorrect.
Who in their right mind would see that as worth it? Paying 25 thousand dollars for some body work, suspension, brakes that are not worth it, tubos, and a tune, man that’s funny how you try and justify the 25k
I can pay 1k to get my T tuned up to 480 without changing a single part. Please explain how 25k is more worth than 1k?

I can get my BRZ to run faster than my Carrera T for way less money too. Why would anyone buy an Enzo when you can buy a 9 second civic for 20k?

yes the turbo is on the engine, but I see the engine as what is contained inside, not what is bolted to it. But if you see everything that is bolted on the engine as part of it then it make sense where your coming from, still the base engine in its entirety can get the same hp as the gts, but I would still rather have the same turbos on my T then the gts ones

fair point, it’s hard to say anything to that, but again talking about the Carerra line, and strictly adhering to the Carrera line, getting the cheapest 911 model you can and tuning it is more cost efficient than buying the GTS. 125k vs 150k starting plus what ever options you see fit.
Also interesting that you say brakes aren't worth it. IMO the brakes are the only thing on the GTS that I covet that my T doesn't have. I don't want the bigger turbos or whatever other horrible PASM configuration it has, nor the center locks

that is a great point, but you can get Essex Ap brake and rotor kit that will be way better, my pops uses them on all his cars and can out stop the ceramics

small brakes are fine for the street. When I go to the track I'd prefer something without dust boots anyway. AP Radicals are pretty high on my list.

Burning Brakes
You do you brother. Some people prefer modded cars, and some are perfectly happy paying more to get it from the factory.
Whether you think it's worth the price or not, doesn't change the fact that the GTS is not a base or a T and there's nothing you can do to change that.
Modifying a T with brakes and suspension to make it as fast as a GTS, doesn't make it equal to a GTS. It makes it something entirely unique, for better or worse.

If you go bigger brakes, you'll need more power as well to compensate for the additional rotating mass.

You can get better brakes than factory, better turbos than factory, better wheels, better everything. But sometimes the factory offerings are worth it. If they offered the GT3 iron brakes for say $4k I would have checked that box for sure.

2024 vs wait for 2025?
I just received an allocation for a T that will be delivered in summer 2024. The dealer mentioned that's right around the time 992.2s will start rolling out but the build is still a 992.1. With the refresh right around the corner, I'm wondering if I should wait a bit to see what gets announced for next year instead of committing to this one. I'm not in any hurry and can wait another year. I'm also open to switching to an S if the T stops production for 2025.
Any thoughts on what I should do?

@Pivot + @Uhu It has arrived at last and I am collecting it this coming Monday 27th. Car having three days worth of G-TECHNIQ Platinum Plus ceramic coating and various minor work done battery charger etc wired in permanently etc. I am not a PPF fan I'm afraid the odd stone chip does not send me into a spasm.!
It does have a Lithium battery hence the herd wired charge connector. I have lost out on the exchange of Michelin Tyres as my old car has been sold.
The cost of a new set of PS4S's was over £1,200 and I would need to sell the Eagle F1's on ebay. So I am sticking with the Goodyears and will report in due course.
Given Uhu and Wilders and one other maybe @Taffy opinions, I think they are not worth to jettison for £1,200 +
Please note the photos are as the car came off the delivery truck. Can't wait a long time coming and No Dentists or Cannabis growers allowed in my cars night-time lair!
Thanks for your concerns, Best Devon Racer.

Beautiful car!
Burning Brakes
Then when you're ready to sell, another $3k in labor to remove the parts... Then you have to spend the time listing and selling your aftermarket parts for which you'll get pennies on the dollar for after five years.
So you've spent $21k to buy and remove parts, and you'll perhaps get $3k for selling the parts. You're out $18k.
Meanwhile I spent an extra $25k upfront on a GTS, of which I got $20k of back when I sold the car.
So to recap:
- You had to wait five years and then spent $13k more than me to achieve equivalent performance, all while spending significantly more time and effort to complete and maintain your modified car.
Buy the car you want. Be happy with the car you have.
