@Macboy thanks for the detailed explanation. Explains why I intuitively prefer the standard front fascia. I like SD also, just not as much. I do prefer the rear SD fascia but it doesn't match with the front standard. I think you either get both or none.
I chose not to order SD as I think the front end looks too much like a sharks mouth I could live with the rear but it is not available independently.
Just think the standard front is cleaner and maybe lighter?
"If you're suggesting that Porsche designs cars to sit in garages, you're mistaken."
@WilderAbsolutely not, I agree they should all be driven. Just stating the obvious that for special and high cost models like the ST that unfortunately most will find their way in a collection and get driven very little (which is very unfortunate).
probably a customer order car. Porsche finder populates anything arriving.
It is on-site and has has acquired over 50 miles since its arrival. It is doubtful that it is a customers car. BTW, the ordered/sold units at my local dealer never hit the Porsche locator, not even when they are incoming. I’ve looked repeatedly.

Regarding "lighter," probably the opposite. Remember the SD FF is standard on the GTS. It removes the variable position slats and their actuators and anchors, while the bodywork that mates the top of the fender with the bottom lip is just a bit of plastic. That said, the weight difference is certainly de minimis.
Same as the aerodynamics, by the way. I've seen several people mention/ask about mismatching SD front/back/aero-kit. Everything except the rear wing is purely optics, there is no need to consider "aerodynamic matching" of SD front/back vs standard front/back. The 10 mm lowered suspension is a plus for all Ts.
Anyone who has taken delivery of a 24 can confirm whether their car has a AGM or a lithium battery? On a different thread someone reported their '24 GTS with RAS came with a AGM battery, wondering if same change was applied to the T
Yep, that appears to be the norm for dealer stock.
Standards are a bit of acquired taste these days, a small percentage of us still left. Sitting on a lot a stick could be sitting for awhile but automatics will sell faster. But if ever there was an automatic to get stuck with, a PDK ain’t so bad. Paddle it!

I like SD, but sometimes when I quickly glance at it, it reminds me of a catfish.

I had both BMWs SMG and Porsches PDKs. Both are better for setting the fastest lap at the track or getting the best 0-60 times but as far as driving engagement goes... lets just say its not for me. Sold my last 911 because of the PDK. On the used market, the manuals do command more and if everyone keepks ordering PDK, that will only make the manuals rarer as time goes on.

As a former BMW Kool-Aid drinker I have owned my share of BMWs for more years than I care to publicly admit, but out of the 20+ I have owned only two have been automatics. So long as my left leg and right arm continue to be fully functional a manual is the only option for me. Of course that is if it is even offered.
Edit: I came to the darkside, Porsche two years ago via my manual 997.2 C2 which I absolutely love!

That's interesting because it's the standard front bumper people have been calling the catfish mouth. This started when the 992 was first introduced. Just shows you that beauty (and type of fish mouth) is in the eye of the beholder.
