Been Busy... Apologize for not posting in a while/keeping up with everyone on here... And sorry if this is old news/already been posted... But thought was interesting to see such a big difference between quoted top speed and real world numbers. Obviously they always understate power and performance

@Macboy I think got his up to 307 or 311, can't remember exactly. I went with mine up to 300-301 on a very short straight, but you could feel the car could do more.

Actually, there was a debate about this, here and on YT, about him not changing into 6th, preferring to redline it in 5th, up to 303 km/h. And he only got up to 288 km/h vs 291 quoted. So, not quite the factory vmax.

IMHO the design of the 992 was based on the design of the 930, you can see it in the straight hood line, straight bumper line below the hood and in the creases in the hood. For the T, I preferred the not SD front and rear for this reason, but chose the SD side skirts because I like it painted and not blac plastic . I thought it would disrupt the line from front to back but in real life looks fine and not the case.
As for painted front lip, in that case you will need FAL and you will need to drive the car carefully, with the plastic lip it is meant to be abused and easily replaced. I have scuffs on mine already and don't even remember scratching it, replacement already ordered and will replace when the old one gets more damaged. Also after using some sandpaper and a little oil scuffs are not noticeable at all. With painted lip be prepared for the fact that at some point it t will be damaged.

The aerokit on gloss black looks fantastic. In fact my T with this aero kit looks better as a design- than my 2024 GT3 . The GT3 has this huge wing just bolted on like a 17 year old likes to do to their Nissan two door coupe. The aero kit which is integrated into the body and funnels the air into the radiators in front of the wing looks really nice- and the sport front and rear both look really nice as well, I like the winglet it adds to the rear and the more aggressive front.
on the rear wheel steer- yes worth every penny. On twisty road driving you can fell it help keep the car stable around the corners- and it does help with turning radius as well. The T is a driving car and should have all the high tech driving options that Porsche makes available.
on the leather. I have all sorts of leather and wood interior upgrades on my 21’ Targa - which is a lunch wagon sort of 911. But the T- it is a no gimmick drivers car - a nod to the 911’s of decades past and the last of the pure ICE 911 driver’s car. I checked all the boxes for race-Tex but kept the base interior. And skipped the deviated stitching thing too. I have a couple cars with this stitching but it just felt wrong to insult the ethos of this model no frills driving car with all that luxury stuff. Kind of like putting a cute sweater on your Rottweiller.
Once you get the car - my experience is that you never miss options that you did not add to the car. I would encourage ordering at least the steel sunroof- this adds very little weight and closed it is invisible from the exterior and when your on a mountain road on a crisp fall morning the ability to skid that top open and let the air in and look up at the trees and sky is something that is almost a religious experience. And the sunroof you can open and close at 100 mph which is more convenient than a cab or Targa and the sunroof does not create any wind buffeting like the other top drop versions.
I wish my GT3 had a sunroof -
i was however worried I would regret not having the leather dash but it turned out I like the basic dash.

Anyone here build a budget GTS by buying a T, swapping the turbos, and adding a tune or are we straying too far from T ethos?

How much did the turbos cost you and do you foresee any issues with handling by overpowering the chassis without the GTS helper springs etc? I admit that I don't fully understand all the differences between the two.
According to other threads in this forum, the engines are the same, just different turbos. All the forum sponsors who tune the S and GTS show the same power numbers with only the base being lower due to the smaller turbos. Obviously, you take on some risk with tuning any engine but it seems 500+ power levels are reliably made with these engines. Not trying to turn this into a tune/warranty discussion, more interested in who has done it and what the results were. Some people in the Miata world feel like they ruined the dynamics of their Miata by turboing it as it is no longer a *****-to-the-wall mid corner acceleration machine and is now slower in the twisties. Since all reviewers seem to rave about the balance of the T, I'm almost concerned that 500hp could ruin that fun.

yes that right thanks for the correction. It was the F80 not G80 with dct. My 2018 G80 M3 competition was fitted with the dct. That was a really nice transmission. At times it tended to get jumpy off the line more so when cold but as for shifting gears it was like lightning fast. Loved that car but way to aggressive with its loose backend!

Lots of good comments on T builds and as others have said, you really can't go wrong. I will point out on thing that seems to come up in the reviews (see latest test by motor trend as an example - or the GT3/GTS/T comparo). For this car, builds and options aside, Porsche has done something to make the whole greater than the sum of the parts.
"no disrespect" and then "buddy"? Lol. Sure. Buddy.
Read your "statement" again, you replied to mine, describing what I am experiencing in day to day driving. And then used your 2300 (now raised to 4600+ miles) of touristy roads to claim "you get" driving in Europe.
I drove more during just one trip to USA, even lived there for more than a couple of years, but you don't see me claiming to know what is like driving there and telling people what they need or don't.
buh-bye.

PS - not that it matters to you, since no amount will satisfy, but 4600 was adding mileage from all the trips I have made in total.
