Lucky enough to secure a T allocation recently. Enjoying the process of figuring out my build and wanted to tap on the collective wisdom of this wonderful group. Originally was set on MT as all sports cars I had were MT, but spouse wants the PDK so that's likely what I'll go with. Test drove a base PDK and was pleasantly surprised by how good it is, so I'm happy either way. Even though I am planning to keep the car for a long time, was curious if having PDK in a T would negatively affect the desirability when it comes time to sell as I'm seeing almost everyone here is speccing MT and 80% of the T's I saw at dealers were MT. Additionally, if I do end up going with PDK, would it make sense to spec ventilated seats to get leather seat center just so it will also appeal to otherwise non-T buyers as Sport-Tex doesn't seem to be common outside of T?

1. yes, build the car for yourself and take the allocation if you have it.
2. yes, PDK will hurt the resale value of your T generally, compared to manual cars.
3. IMO, if you are getting a T, the T-oriented features are a good way to go. (T interior package...etc)
4. There will always be more porsches

Buy the spec you and your wife like and can afford. The internet hive mind shouldn't get a vote...

Two different things; the car is still owned by the factory or the distributor at that point so in that sense any work done at the port is "factory paint repair". But as to quality of work, totally dependent on who is contracted to do those repairs. Some are good, some very good, but some are no better than your local body shop.

Buy the car that you and your wife want. Get the spec that will make the two of you happy. Your happiness and satisfaction with the spec is more important than resale, and a whole hell lot more important than the randos on the internet think you should get. YOU and your wife have to live with the car - the folks who post on this page do not. Our opinions are pretty much worthless if the car you buy based on the feedback from strangers on the internet (even if they're strangers who post on an enthusiast forum for the car your looking at) is one you end up hating after you get it.

This is good advice.
And I would add that you shouldn't get a base Carrera because the T comes with a limited slip and sport PASM and sport exhaust as standard. Additionally it opens up options for RAS. So even if you end up with PDK you're getting a better car than the base. Just make sure to click the box for the stereo upgrade because the base stereo is doo doo

Chicago roads suck, so I thought some Dakar references would be humorous for us nerds in the room.

My Car has officially cleared customs, completed PDI and been released for transport as of today... Just waiting to hear that the truck is on its way from RI to MA (Only about an hour drive from port to dealer)... if all goes well I should see her this weekend and have her on Monday... but you just never know with trucking so🤞🏻🤞🏻

Opinions on a shark blue T interior spec. Is this cool or too much? Yellow or blue stitching?

Otherwise, skip the yellow belts and go FULL blue... blue belts, and white rev counter and white sport chrono dial.
