Yep, vote with your feet, as an engineer it is ingrained in me to despise bad data...Porsche can communicate better even if they don't have exact data.

I don't blame you one bit as the R8 is a spectacular car and a real looker.

Last night I was at 11/6, this morning its been pushed to 11/13. I think Porsche is f____ng with me at this point. Regardless of how others feel, I need to love the car and the experience. This is a very bad experience.

If you don't need the practicality of the rear seats and cargo space, the R8 is solid choice, especially if you can get a deal. The refresh really looks good on that car.

Agreed on R8--refresh looks great.

I'm out Friday too.

My 992 sat outside for most of the time between its January 2020 build date and delivery to me in early July. For about three months at the start of COVID-19 issues, it wasn't clear where the car actually was, or when it might be shipped. After receiving the car, it looked just like any other Porsche on the lot and there have been zero issues with it cosmetically or mechanically (a couple of door handle rattles). Even if there wasn't an EPA-related delay at this end, any car built in Germany and delivered to North America will have spent many weeks outside.

According to TYD this morning, my delivery date is moved from 10/16 to 11/6. Still no pictures....

This is not nice....

I talked with EPA, they said it is the manufacturers who do not want the status of approval to be made public before their cars are certified for sale.

(EPA is prevented from making the certification process public)

Both Porsche and EPA are very good at directing the blame to each other, as this process is very opaque...

My SA says the release date has been pushed back for all 2021 911s across the board to 11/6 due to EPA.

My car originally showed 10/30 to the dealer, then 10/9, and now 11/6. It doesn't matter really since I wasn't going to pick it up until 10/31 at the earliest anyway since that's when I get my quarterly commission but it's still a little disappointing, especially since I see Mediterranean Highway right off the coast of RI at the moment.

To all of those waiting my I understand your pain. I cant imagine bieng pushed back after waiting as long as you all have. That said for those of you thinking of cancelling just because the car has been sitting out doors for 2 months I am not sure that that makes total sense. These are cars and are meant to be able to handle the weather and while Porsche paint is not the finest there should be no reason a car cant sit out for two months without any ill effects. My boxster was born in January and sat out doors until I bought it at the end of August and when I took it to be evaluated for a protective wrap they commented on how pristine the paint and soft top looked. Your cars will be fine and will be no worse off. Hang in there it will be worth it

Atleast it's sitting outside in October/November as opposed to January/February covered in snow, or July/August with hot sun beating down on it.

I blame Porsche 100% for not telling its really good customers what is going on and in detail as to when we can expect a resolution. It is starting to make me suspicious about the emissions as a general problem that is difficult to resolve . . . and I am no conspiracy theorist or subscriber.

If my Spyder allocation comes up before this is resolved I may walk my order and go Spyder. Although . . . . I am really a 911 person.
