Maybe it is the fault of both Porsche and the USofA? I definitely could see Porsche submitting the information late due to the 2-3 months they were shut down for Covid-19 and then expecting Uncle Sam to hustle once it was received, and then Uncle Sam failing to hustle as it is not capable or motivated to do so.
I think probably a bit of both is going on. Porsche was shut down from a production standpoint thru much of the Spring for 2020 models and then swapped over to 2021 models this summer shortly after production re-started. Many govt offices and state ones also have been working virtually and then on part time basis and without full time staff throughout the last 6 mos also. My local DMV for example shut down in how vehicle registration (new or used) for most of May-July/Aug and just re-opened their satellite locations. Prior to that it was mail in....what took normally a day or two took about a month under the current COVID19 conditions. So I suspect that is what has happened to both parties here...a normally timely process has been delayed by timing and staff being off-sort. Remember if anything both Germans and Porsche consistently do well; is strict efficiency and precision management of things...that is why we love these cars remember!
Since 10/2, my TYD has said "port processing" completed on 10/1 with estimated shipping date of 10/2 and dealer arrival 10/9. I doubt it - TYD has not given me any reason to actually rely on it.
Just looked at TYD. My port processing actual date changed from 8/31 to 10/5, which makes no sense. My enroute to Porche center date is still 9/4 and my at dealer date is 10/9. What a cluster.
I think they should just rename their app to Track Your Nightmare.
