You have some weeks to go for CARB unfortunately. I've seen the 12/4 as an 'at earliest' date too.

at this point, I’ve just accepted that it comes when it comes. Hoping for an “early Christmas present”.

Just curious - is that your assumption or did you see/hear something from a credible source about potential dates? Based on how things have been going it seems like a reasonable assumption.

I have no idea what's going on with CARB and don't live in a CARB state so don't have a dog in the current fight, but am just wondering about the dates that are being tossed around, with the current "anticipated" date of 12/4. Porsche's system defaults to putting Fridays in as "planned" and "expected" dates throughout the entire process (see attached), then once the milestone is reached the actual day/date is reported. When they bumped the CARB administrative hold out from last Friday (11/20), might it just be the system's default to plug in the next available Friday (skipping 11/27 due to holiday) - 12/4? Just looking for any glimmer of hope that this could occur before 12/4, because based on history, CARB certification generally comes within a week or two of EPA. And I know COVID has been implicated as a possible reason for the delays, but I suspect these reviewers have been working remotely much of the time over the past months anyway. Just a thought....

Being a resident of California and experiencing other poorly managed government agencies I’d have to say this charade could go on indefinitely. Hoping to have my car by the first of the year. Hopefully.

Just from a west coast dealer friend so opinion and them being tired of giving wrong dates. Ha. Also in this post somewhere somebody said 12/4 was an earliest date.

Possibly could be because Governor Nuisance has to quarantine for 14 days for not doing what he preaches and may be able to introduce a new tax on imports. We all know he is a control freak. LOL

Another tax would be expected. He’s frantically looking for more cash to throw at the High Speed Fail. I mean Rail.

My car is currently in Emden waiting for transport to San Diego and then Scottsdale. My TYD says it won't leave Emden until 12/18, I'm not sure if that is accurate seems like a long time 24days waiting to get on a transport. Has anyone experienced a similar wait to get on a ship? My TYD has been all over the place with dates that is why I'm a skeptic.

FYI, I put this on another thread. There are three VW export ships hitting Emden in next few days...Viking Bravery (11/25), Siem Cicero (11/26) and Bishu Highway (11/29) so could get on one of those or it could be later ships if you don't. My car is at port in Emden too.

On the currently published schedule, the next three due in to Emden that will be stopping in San Diego (attached) are the Rhea Leader, RCC America, and Selene Leader. First two are scheduled out of Emden before the 18th (but they usually run behind schedule). Selene Leader is due out of Emden on 12/18. Since your vehicle is already at the port there's a good chance it will get on one of the earlier ships. You can track them at several different sites including Fleet Monitor, Marine Traffic, etc. Don't know if Viking Bravery (mentioned by Mohawks23) is scheduled into San Diego, but according to the schedule Siem Cicero and Bishu Highway are not going to SD.

Our build sat in Emden for sixteen days before being loaded, sat on the ship for another two days before setting sail...Do not depend on TYD...Dates are estimates only...We ordered our car on 04/10...It arrived in San Diego on 09/05 where it still sits with estimated CARB release...It will have been sitting for three months. Hopefully by the time yours arrives the CARB will have been lifted.

Cars are loaded and unloaded by people
so may be in their wisdom California increased the quarantine on cars at port because of covid , and delay has nothing to do with CARB certification
may be another 14 day quarantine at dealer before release to customer too
