When I went under coding programming - I only had 2 options (the automatic coding, which I believe is used for setting up new devices/fixing issues - and the top code that I never went into on PIWIS 3). Only seeing those 2 options led me to thing I'm in V mode. At least - what what I saw on PIWIS 3 in V mode.
If what you're listing is accurate, then how to I edit settings which is under that Manual Coding option?
May need to hook it up again and post some screen shots.
You do realize this is not a 'consumer' tool, and 'engineering' mode is something the dealers don't even have access to? The fact that a working version of PIWIS is even available is a minor miracle, but the need to use PPN to access .2 cars is a real PITA. My advice: roll up your sleeves, become well acquainted with this thread, watch some YouTube videos and the mysteries / magnificence of PIWIS will slowly reveal themselves....

Just received last night, and after I hooked this up to the car and verified it connected to it successfully, I could not find where to put the thing into Engineering mode. Didn't have a ton of time last night, but help a brother out, where is this located now?
Reference, PIWIS 3 is under settings, Diagnostics Configuration and the Mode tab - in version 4, I don't have anything like this under settings.

Understood - this isn't quite my first go around, and did spend some hours going through this thread over several days. I've had PIWIS 3 for a couple years now and was able to code the items I wanted to on my 981. When I tried hooking 3 up to my '22 992, while it would recognize the car, it was missing many programable items in the fields I expected to see there. Example, I was able to code my spoiler on the Boxster...but did not see these similar options for the 992 that was on PIWIS 3 for the 981. Similar, the PIWIS 3 did not show the turn signal blinks under BCM2 on the 992.
Naturally, assume this is because 3 is technically only good to 2021-992s, and they didn't have the 4GTS then, that I needed to obtain the new version 4 (which just came in). Assumed using 4 would be similar as going from PIWIS 2 to 3, but some items are beyond what I can find right now. And coding is one that's alluding me at the moment.
"magnificence" is vastly exaggerated when used in the PIWIS context...
I did warn a couple of years ago about the .2 pitfalls...
If u can't understand the "horror of it all"; reach out to Mars

PS and there is a reason dealers don't have access to it... a wise decision on the part of P
I'm a .1, so shouldn't have those type issues, but do think there are 992's that work with 3 and those that don't. Also, I tried reaching out to Mars to obtain the product (wanted to support him)...but he never got back to me.
I played around with some BCM1 settings yesterday - DRLs, sidelights etc. I will check the logs later but I may have accidentally changed something related to ParkAssist. I have disconnected the battery for 20 mins to give everything a clean start but the issue persist. Any ideas?

re the PWIS v3 vs v4 differences, it really depends on the specific version discussed because there are some v4 images circulating with only an updated v4 frontend and the same v3 backend (v42.950.025 from September 2024 iirc).
So why do you need PIWIS 4? 992.1 or prior to 2024 work with 3, past that you need 4 especially for the EV models

With this new version of 4 that I just got, it has an updated version of 3 as well. Let me give it a try.
I can tell you the PIWIS 3 I bought a few years ago (which does work on my 981), it reads the car, but lists it as a basic 992. There are no options to select any of the variants other than a Carrera or Carrera S. (No Targa, no GT3, no GTS, or my 4 GTS in the drop down menus) and will only list 2020 and 2021 models. When selecting the 992 as read, I go into the Coding programming, manual coding without rules, 2/3rds of the options I know should be there, are not....so maybe it's a version issue?
This weekend, if I'm seeing the same on this new version of 3...I'll post some screenshots.

If you inadvertently disabled the Park Assist you will need to re-calibrate it. Disabling the battery doesn't do anything.

The integration of the signature light with the BCM1 allows for:
Dynamic Lighting Effects: The signature light can change based on driving conditions or vehicle status, such as during lane changes or when activating certain driving modes.
In summary, the signature light and the Body Control Module (BCM1) work together to create a sophisticated lighting system that enhances both the aesthetic appeal and safety of Porsche vehicles.
I think the KW MAY refer to the Taycan badge lighting option
