Parking lights - has anyone coded a way to keep these on while driving? Currently they turn off at 6 MPH or 330ft of driving and revert back to the automatic headlight setting.
If nobody's done this, I'll go through and try to find it...
Also, someone mentioned a while back in this thread about spoiler heights, but didn't see that anyone responded. With the new Turbo S spoiler going on...I'd like to look at lowering the total height. I know this was able to be adjusted in the 981 I have (as the Cayman and Boxster have different heights anyway) just don't know if it's a similar setting on the 992.

Yes I have mine configured to stay on. I wanted my light bar to stay fully lit at all times. It is in BCM2 I believe. I would need to double check.
Awesome, thanks! My Aerokit spoiler is being painted now. Debating taking to the dealer or doing it myself. What software you using?
I bought my PIWIS setup from Mars, OBD dongle and software set up. I bought a used thinkpad and a 75 amp power supply online. I use it on the ‘23 911 & our ‘22 Macan S. Doesn’t work on the ‘25 Cayenne w/ PVD.

Thanks Kevin.. is that @rnlst_log ? I see he's been an amazing resource for a lot of people. I'll PM him, if so.

So - this is a little different than just the light bar (which I would also do). This is turning off the automatic headlights (which flip on and off during sunset) - and driving with just the parking lights on by pressing this switch (circled in the pic).
Currently, this car does not allow driving with just the parking lights on (I get it...they're for "parking"), and currently reverts right back to the auto mode when driving resumes (shown by the arrow what it goes back to). I'd assume there's a setting for KPH (which is probably around 10) and distance (guessing it's 100 meters) for this...
I'd like to keep this parking light operation while I drive. It turns off the 4 dots in the headlights - but keeps the DRL in the bumper luminated (which is the same as my 981).
Would you mimd sharing the exact coding; as I am looking to do the same on my 992.2 (when It get mine in June).
Post #498 has links to all the various items people have posted - which this is one of them. Someone else here would need to confirm if you can do this on the .2 platform.
Have a Macan on order for my wife, and thinking of adding a 992, probably a T. Honestly, though, I want a sportscar, not a computer (yeah, I’m a bit of a luddite with my cars). I’m wondering how much of the driver-interference junk PIWIS can disable permanently, or at least automatically disable at startup without requiring me to menu-surf every time I get into the car.
Controls I’m curious about would include:
Auto-brake
”Lane assist”
ACC (I prefer non-adaptive cruise)
Soft speed limiter
Auto stop/start [I read above that is was not permanently defeatable, but has this changed with the recent US developments?]
Basically everything that overrides or changes driver input.
Honestly, if these can’t be changed or eliminated I’m fine with just sticking with a 997….but if I can make it work the way I want, a new one would be a worthwhile upgrade
Coding newbie here (new to 911 coding):
Auto stop/start [I read above that is was not permanently defeatable, but has this changed with the recent US developments?]
Stop/start in SysOpm subfolder SysOpmEng.
Change “engine speed threshold for a prohibited stop” to “0”
Permanent deactivation.
As far as I know, PIWIS will not flash a modified .bin to the DME so you need a different device to flash. It is not cost effective unless you want to do other DME things, i.e. torque tuning, exhaust flap management etc. The posted info is one (of many) ways to disable AutoStopStart that might help enthusiasts who already have flashing hardware. It has been stated in other posts that you can disable A/S/S in the DME but I found no details about how. This is how - I’ve verified on my car.
Can you post a link to those 'other posts' that mention disabling *** in DME? Mars and I worked for many days trying to accomplish this several years ago noting that *** appears in dozens of different places and modules and we never succeeded in doing this.
I'm not saying it's not possible as several tuners are capable of disabling it, but modifying parameter(s) in DME via PIWIS to achieve this has not been done AFAIK. Thank you for sharing the links as I'm sure this is of keen interest to many.
