The bracket is not visible once installed with the cup holder floating on top of it. the 1/4-20 wing nut is for ease of install. I personally have a black stainless nut on mine, but this requires tools for install.
Can't help but think some rounded corners on the outside of the bracket and NOT a wing nut would help prevent any accidently scrapes if a passenger bumped it.
Totally agree. When I saw the wing nut I was thinking about what I could use to replace that. Would definitely snag on loose clothing someone was wearing in the passenger seat.

Thats great, and to be clear, I love the concept, as well, and will likely buy one of them. Are you able to customize the size of the cup holder, perhaps make the diameter a little smaller or the height a little shorter? Also, can you customize the size of the screw the nut underneath attaches to so if I opt to use a round nut the screw would sit flush with the bottom of the nut so it couldn’t snag on anything from the passenger seat? I’ll send you a private message but maybe others are curious about those things.

yeah absolutely, I can do anything you’d like custom size and hardware wise. I’ll shoot you a pm and we can go back and forth. If you’re not happy or need to make any changes lll exchange them until you’re happy.
not having the drinks in the way of my shifting with the wireless charging right there is a great addition. I designed these for myself and local friends with the platform. I’m very much oem plus and want everything to work and look like it came with the car.
