Ya we are pretty much shut down here in CT. I wouldn't be surprised if the car sits in RI for a few weeks. Maybe they can keep mine for a few months. It's on the Siem Cicero and it still hasn't reached Halifax. Seems to be hanging off of the coast up there--wonder if it is delayed. At this point, I am most likely going to pass on my car, but who knows what a few weeks/months will bring.

Bored as heck since there is very little to do on the weekends since everything is closed and I need to stay away from everyone. Just checked the Track Your Dream website and it looks like Porsche finally updated my production schedule due to COVID-19.
Original delivery date: May 15
New delivery date: June 05
I think that is totally a pipe dream to only delay it a few weeks. This pandemic is going to halt things in Germany for several months, even if they abide by a full lockdown. In the US, since we are doing all of our reactive plans ad-hoc, this will last deep into the summer in my opinion.
So, being realistic about things, don't model years switch over in November? Maybe my order will switch model years and I'll get a 2021 model for Christmas in a COVID-free environment.
Such a crazy situation the whole world is in right now. Even if my car arrived tomorrow, I don't think I'd really care. I'd gladly crash it immediately if it meant the pandemic would end right away.

Got an update from my SA....
When do you think it will arrive in SD? When will it exit? I have Porsche center delivery option. Wonder how that is going to work?

Our Order Is In - 2021
Placed our order this week. We presently have a 2018 911S, but... We were advised we will be the first 2021 from our dealer. We built the vehicle submitting it to our dealer. Sales Manager said the packages on the built site are different for 2021. We will be able to make changes as soon as the configurator is updated.
Track Your Dream - We are official, but when I entered the site, a disclaimer came in stating the factory will remain closed for an additional three weeks.

The longer I'm in the waiting room during the shutdown, the more I'm changing my build before the lock........... Have many others been changing their builds since production stopped?

All that said, my initial reason for sticking with my initial plan was the intimation from my SA that changes might slow down the pace, and leaving it “as is” might speed it up. Of course, that was “BC” (before coronavirus) and it seems like all timelines for new builds have been completely upended.
But maybe I’ll make a tweak—right now I have until June before my build locks (according to the TYD site).
