Love this! This has been my mind for the last 2 weeks since I got word my car entered the SD port. They must be backed the hell up because my dealer is only 80 miles away in OC area and it's not expected to get there before 4/14. And thats just an ETA, the dealers have no goddamn clue or control over the port inspection process and trucking schedule. It kind of blows my mind that they aren't part of that process...
Right there with you, my car is in Benicia for 4 days and I'm still waiting impatiently in Fresno, heck I could walk up there and get it. FWIW my dealer says on their end it's shown as "released for transport" which means it's through customs and port processing, but waiting for a truck.
Let's have some fun with numbers. The Dong has a RT (capacity) of 7702. An RT is a 1966 Toyota Corona. Although the DONG carried VW, Audi, P-cars, maybe even a Urus, let's use 992 as a car size. So 160"/178" * 7702 cars = 6923 cars. How many cars on a trailer? Wiki says 6-9 cars. Let's use 8. 6923/8 = 865. If they can load 100 trailers a day that's 8 1/2 days. Maybe you'll get lucky and get loaded the first day. Maybe day 9. My P-car has been at Benicia since 4/3. TYD says en route 4/10 and at dealer same day (60 miles). That's reasonable -- just got to hope it didn't get dinged on the way, or the damn battery died after sitting on the port in the North Sea for 10 weeks.

I hope everyone gets cleared out of Benicia because mines on the Glovis Sunshine and it will be there in a week.
Mine was built end of November/start of December and I’m also worried that the $2000 lithium battery will be toast from the 5 month journey.

My bad. My back of the envelope numbers are pessimistic. I forgot to consider that the Dong offloaded in San Diego, Columbia, and Mexico. More likely four days to truck all those beautiful P-cars to dealers! Makes more sense since TYD says trucking to dealers on Monday.
I'm also headed to Porsche Perimeter (just guessing yours is too) - was hoping my TYD would get to step 9 since the ship is now halfway to Mexico (cars have been off the ship in Jacksonville for a day) so I assume it'll update today - hoping by this time next week it's on the way to Atl, but know that might be a bit soon.
I agree. Soo disappointed no update. I am shipping to Hennessy. I was told they have delays taking up to a few months. I am truely hoping like you that my baby is here next week. Good luck to you and look forward to seeing you out there soon!
Glovis Sunrise has left San Diego and is scheduled to arrive at Benicia on Tuesday, April 11th @ 2:45 UTC or Monday, April 10th @ 19:25 PST. What's interesting is that it shouldn't take that long to go from SD to SF so I suspect they are anticipating having to wait outside the bay for a day or so. TYD has my 911 leaving the port and arriving at the dealer in the Bay Area on 4/19. Given the estimated arrival, perhaps this might be a tad earlier... One can hope.
That's awesome, beautiful spec. What port was your drop-off and where are you located? Just trying to see where I might be at delivery-wise for Fresno with a entry port of Benicia, did your TYD update you saying it was being delivered? Or did it just show up.
Car was delivered in Benicia on April 3rd.I was told at the Port that "German vehicles are unloaded on Mondays and Tuesdays" and transports are at the dock on those days. It was obviously on the Dong A Glaucos. My Dealership is in Alameda County. My SA called me on April 6 to inform me that the car had been released. Soon after my TYD did reflect a change to this step. I stopped by the Dealership on the 7th for a visit and was informed of a possible delivery soon. This information did not immediately appear in the My Porsche app but at some time during the afternoon was updated to indicate that the car was at the Dealership. They did a great job getting the car to me late in the afternoon.

Even though it's a bit dated - I thought I would share this for those of you with cars either in transit or at the US Port. My understanding is that the VW group does something very similar with all cars arriving in the US. So even though this is BMW focused, the process should be the same.
Those who are concerned about the state of their batteries due to the long time that their cars sat in Europe before heading to the US - odds are a bad battery would be caught during the port inspection. But if your car is there for more than a few days, it's possible that there's been some damage in transit that they're sorting out before releasing the car for transport. Historically, manufacturers do not disclose repairs or replacements that are done at the port.
