I also have a T allocation with a build in March. Personally paying more money for these higher hp engines is a genius marketing plan that puts lots of extra profit in their pocket. Truth is the base engine 911 is so fast that most of us will never go around corners at speeds above the base engine capability. And the difference getting on a freeway with more than the 380 hp engine is tenths of a second faster and I can never keep my foot planted on the gas pedal of my Targa 4 with the base engine anyway without going to jail.
The main difference in the engines is simply larger turbo blades but the downside is that they spin up slower than the base engine turbos. I drove a 911 S cabriolet 992- in Europe for three weeks and I found it sluggish feeling when the throttle was smashed to the floor compared to my experience with the Targa 4 992.
I am thrilled with the base engine - and the manual transmission and rear wheel steer and PASM of the T. I can use the savings over the S or GTS on fun options that look cool or that I will actually use or see like surround view or racetex steering wheel or even a fun PTS paint.
the T is also the lightest 911 offered.
last thought. If speed is the real goal why would anyone opt for the manual when for free you can select the PDK which is clearly faster than the manual. For free!
a PDK base engine 911 is effectively just as fast 0-60 as a 911 S manual transmission car - but the S is an extra $18,000?
I get the ego rub of the S or GTS badge on the rear hatch but I would rather put money into options I use everyday. Like an upgraded stereo or even silly visual stuff like deviated stitching.
I was joking actually. I just wanted to see how expensive I could make a base model I have a request in for a T,

But... I set my limit for $130k on it because of the value proposition. I really want the Aerokit, and I have been pricing the T, S, and GTS variants out for comparison at this point because I am starting to doubt the T's value at $130k now. Thoughts?
I'm ordering my T with Aero and side skirts. I just love the look, especially on a weekend toy. It's a lot of money, but it will be money well spent every time I look at it. Plus, there are not many Aero cars made, and even fewer in Python Green, and the T will be limited production most likely. So hopefully this will be a well optioned car with good ROI, should I ever decide to sell it. Which I hope never to do (but I've said that before lol).

For what it's worth, my feeling is that you go for the Carrera T or GTS if you can get an allocation for either. Get a car that has your unique signature and options you will enjoy. I had battled with the lightweight package VS glassroom, FAL, gts interior and special paint color. I didn't go with the lwp because id lose the everyday enjoyment and comfort. Have fun in the configurator! Here is my Carrera T build(as I would build it, even though I ended up with a GTS): http://www.porsche-code.com/PP4HPN11
My TYD landed at Emden on 12/20. I'm pretty certain it missed the SIEM Aristotle last week. Here is what is up next...
Going to Davisville, RI
Gotta keep an eye on SIEM Cicero and Violet Ace!
Mine is still sitting in Emden waiting for a ship to West coast. I see way more ships going to east that west coast. My TYD still shows 12/23 as the data when the car should be on the vessel, but there was no ships leaving Emden for west coast for a while. Next one should be Glovis Splendor that is currentyin in Bremerhaven and hopefully gets to Emden soon. Anyone has a list of west coast routes from emden?
My 992 GTS is on a boat coming to Australia at the moment. My SA sent me the details and should be in Melbourne in around 8 days and then has to make it’s way through port.
my TYD still shows stage 2 scheduled for production. So I don’t know what happened with the app or if it’s working with Australian customers.
Just an update to my saga - my TYD updated today to show a 3 week delay. Jan 13 arrival at dealer pushed to Feb 3. Now it looks like it will be loaded onto a boat on Jan 20, after arriving in Emden on Dec 13. Hopefully they can throw it onto one of the boats to Davisville before that!
My Targa 4S is sitting on the SFL Conductor which, according to the vesselfinder.com website, was meant to arrive at the Port of Baltimore yesterday. But for the last 24 hours the ship seems to be stopped in the bay about an hour out from Baltimore and hasn't moved. When I checked Expected Arrivals at the Port of Baltimore website, the SFL Conductor is no longer listed. I know you guys that are only getting their cars in a month or two or more will have no sympathy for me but the wait gets more difficult as the time gets closer. Do you think it's just because the port is full? I don't understand why the ship is no longer on the Expected Arrivals list.
Any updates on this? My car is also on that boat, and I've been watching it sit outside of the Port of Baltimore for 4 days now. Dealer has not received confirmation that my car has been offloaded/put onto a trailer for delivery.
It's still sitting there as of 8 minutes ago. And it's anchored. I have to believe, like Diablo Dude said, that the port is full and it's waiting for its turn for a berth. But it's now been almost 3 full days since it anchored there. You'd think its turn for a berth at the port would have come through by now.

Mirage15 and Evio stated that the vessel tracking was incorrect and the SFL Conductor had actually already arrived at the port. I am trying to see if somebody can confirm this to be true. Or if the boat is still anchored and has not been unloaded yet. Thanks
