GT3RS Allocation Thread
#1651
I drove the car as a part of a porsche experience driving school and I was a good 5 seconds faster on track than the turbo and GT3. I'd like one strictly as a track car, but my brain won't let me pull the trigger at current pricing knowing I'll be taking a huge bath on it.

Can I ask what happened to the 991.1 GT3RS pricing? I'm just now in the market and don't really have a historical perspective.

Yeah, I was thinking either a Hurcan STO or a Pista but leaning towards the Pista now and prices on both of those cars have been declining this year. I've seen a few nice Pistas in the high $400s so maybe next year when I'm ready to pull the trigger pricing may be in the low-to-mid $400s.

I've looked at the 675LT and 720S which are in the 200s but I just can't get over the stories of bad experiences of reliability of the cars. I don't seem to hear about as many of those kind of stories with the STO and Pista.

Does 'looked at' mean you drove them? With McLaren, it's all about the driving experience, which is quite different from any Porsche. As far as the reliability stories, just allocate some budget to fix the car if needed, it's still a better value than Porsche, Lambo, or Ferrari. The expensive stuff, like drivetrain, seems to be very reliable with McLarens. Can't necessarily say the same for Porsche, if they're actually driven, given that my 991.1 GT3 had two engine failures and one transmission failure, with the latter not covered by warranty.

You need to test drive them. Spending time shopping based on price trends, word of mouth, and reviews is kind of pointless. We buy these cars for the experiences they provide, so you need to sample the experiences.

Im looking at 720s, 765lt, and several Ferrari. I will say driving a 720s was a lot of fun for the short time I was able to drive it.
...and my fight on reference was to also being a usc alum. But yes we should all fight the good fight lol
