Maybe they are really backed up with CXX orders.
Porscge seems to be really backed up both with PTS and CXX orders.

Maybe some of their executives will consider revamping and expanding both departments instead of just disappointing and/or overcharging their customers who want something not on the primary menu???

Seems like that approach would both capture more revenue AND censure ensure their most passionate customers are satisfied and looking forward to buying their next Porsche.

While to the mass market it makes 100% sense to grow areas that make you $. Yet to a brand redefining its base why increase expenses through division expansion, when you can just charge more per unit and still create gauranteed work flow 2+ years in advance and still keep raising prices.

This is the exact reason brands such as Ferrari, Bugatti, Rolex, and many many other exclusive brands don't need to expand. Their product will sell out regardless.

It's really not more complicated than this ^^^^^^. Spot on.

i understand what you are saying. But if porsche doubled their PTS and CXX capacity, it would still be a very small percentage of all Porsches, so still incommon, but this double the PTS/CXX revenue for the company, in the millions.

Doubling capacity is different from just making it available to every single buyer.

sometimes it pays to increase volume. You mentioned Bugatti. The company is losing millions on each of their low volume (but exclusive) cars.

I see what you're getting at and agree, I do often wonder when investors are looking for constant growth is just raising prices for goods enough?

It's not, if Porsche believes that it can increase supply and still be at demand -1 then they'll capture a lot more revenue and profits. Looks at the production numbers from 991.1 GT cars to 992.1 GT cars, supply is up materially. They even doubled the number of numbered cars from 991 Rs to 1,963 S/Ts. As soon as demand outpaces supply, Porsche will keep maximizing and increasing their production capacity.

There are many issues here, but the biggest ones are:

1. the production volume of 911 is limited based on the Stuttgart plant setup. All 911s are exclusively made there, and the big expansion over the past 5 years was to add the Taycan line. They do all the powertrains there too, it’s massively oversubscribed. Anyone that’s done the factory tour can compare the cramped and hyper compact conditions to something like Mercedes in Sindelfingen. There’s not a ton of space to expand into, and although Porsche are currently tearing up the area across the street from the plant but that construction is a long way from being done.

2. PTS, and worse CXX is not a very scalable business. As a public company Porsche is being pressured to find reliable sources of large growth. This will come from Macan, EV programs, etc. Sadly, custom-build programs scale as a function of people which is the worst way to scale. So while these programs might be some margin they also introduce staffing risk which is especially acute in a place like Germany where it is very hard to reduce workforces once they are hired.

We love our 911s! But the growth and 10X future of the company is all the other products. I don’t see them spending any serious time trying to deal with ramping up 1-off paints and super-deviated whatever. Someone earlier in the thread says the CXX department can’t even respond to the requests they have now. “Hire another 50 CXX people!” said absolutely no one at Porsche.

They’ll focus on the growth business first.

That’s the Dundon Street full exhaust setup with 316 stainless headers, 200 cell cats, and a Ti muffler with the “loud” inserts. Streetable in Normal mode and sounds fairly hot in Sport/Track.

Would love more sound but EUR tracks are problematic with noise. Last year May picked up the RS Saturday, Monday morning on Zandvoort black flagged end of lap 2. Factory exhaust

Can you share videos, love to hear the set up.

Cheers H
