What some folks have done a 180 on, or at least a 90 degree turn, is to demonize the 918 VIP program now, versus when it was introduced as a carrot to move the 918.
Initially, the 918 VIP program was met with a nonplussed reaction as in "who gives a ****, I can still get all the limited edition special cars even without status (read: 997 RS 4.0)" but in the intervening 10 years, the tune has become, "those motherfcker VIPs get all the cars and flip and little old roofer me can't get any of them at MSRP. FML."

Good street cars? SC and ST. Because they were designed for the street.

Drifting
LOL. Exactly.
I'm very curious to see the list of cars that Justaroofer has owned so far.
I'm "learning" so much from this guy!
P.S. I have a GT3RS coming in as well, but I'm not too excited about it. The lack of horsepower will be make lapping slower cars difficult on track without their full cooperation

If someone is foolish enough to fall into a collective think tank of what they drive based on the exclusivity of it or price tag I truly feel sorry for that person.
I fail to see how the collective now can't see.... Porsche of yesteryear is no more. The page has turned the business model has shifted.
It's not a mid-level car anymore in the brands eyes.
They are laying the path out in front of your eyes.
The brand will be soccer mom crossovers and highline cars. With the occasional 150kish -200k 911.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, but seems the masses are just in denial.
The ST is essentially a pilot car for a new business model.
Litmus test if you will.
Who will stay, who.will go. And the revenue will remain unphased because we all love what these machines can do and the feeling they present.

Too many 8 and 9 sec cars and trucks to list. I don't get cars for their status or exclusivity. I get them based on what they can do.

I have one coming in Q2. I’m a fan
It is interesting your mindset is that anyone who wants an ST automatically wants it just for its price tag and/or exclusivity. It couldn’t be possible that some just love to drive and are chasing one of the best canyon carving 911s made.

To understand the ST from a (Porsche) business case approval meeting
(Testing costs , Marketing costs
Vs the limited revenue from only 1963 cars)
"Would you justify/spend 200k for a Carrera GTS if there wasn't a 350k ST ?"
Answer-> NO

This is your second reference to preferring cars that are fast in a straight line, so why the lowly 3RS that runs high 10s - low 11s?
I have one coming in Q2. I’m a fan

Main reason I wanted the 3RS is the aggressive nature of its design and I appreciate the boldness and edgy design aswell as the technology they put into the new 3RS. They invested alot into the new 3RS and frankly it reminds me alot of why I love Viper ACR-E. Bold designs specially built for 1 purpose, yet functional in others. Aggressive lines, while also subtle depending on the angle.
The new 3RS is Porsche Racing technology pedigree essentially, brought to the street with a design that breaks the mold and that I can appreciate.

For what it’s worth… this guy says 992.2 will stay NA 4.0 but 994 will be turbo

- Production capacity for 911 is increasing by up to 15k units per year starting this fall (current capacity is about 40k units), covering the entire model range (lower end models are not going away)
- Facelifted 992.2 arrives early next year
- All-electric 983 Cayman coming in 2025
- Next GT2 RS will be hybrid and arrives in 2026
- GT3 will stay NA through 2028 and power will not significantly increase, then replaced with high-revving twin-turbo cars (I assume still called GT3)
- 994 will arrive in 2028 and will remain ICE and displacement will increase
- 911 will go all-electric in 2032 with the 998 series
- Porsche is developing CO2-neutral fuels which will keep ICE 911s going well into the 2030s

Very good question. The speed is a bit of a struggle for me and one of the reasons I habe struggled to love the 4rs. The light at the end of the tunnel for me is the 992 GT2RS.
