A big part of its appeal is that it's a toned-down RS for people who don't want the PDK (which is compulsory with the RS).

Would be so great to own the 997 4.0RS, 911R, Speedster, SC & the ST. And maybe the upcoming Carrera RS.

Well I own the first 2 cars. Hopefully I get an allocation for one and post a photo of it in the same location.

You have a cool car collection.

What are you expecting of the Carrera RS? And how it will be different from the ST. And amazing so little has been heard about the Carrera RS.

So far, the rumors about the Carrera RS are not too exciting. Basically, it is supposed to be mechanically similar to Carrera GTS (3.0TT with 480hp) with cosmetic upgrades (ducktail, fuchs wheels, design cues from 73RS).

Neither the Sport Classic nor the Carrera RS developed by GT department...

Really does not compute, the 73RS deserves to be na 9000rpm+, 6 MT, the lightest 911, emotive. Porsche celebrate anything & everything, every anniversary with great fanfare but this seems quite subdued, or a very well kept secret.

Yeah, I think Porsche decided to give the ST this treatment instead and leave the Carrera RS to the Exclusive Manufaktur folks instead (from rumors only)…

Honestly almost sounds better. I'm sure it's the same but something about the manual gear changes and that sound, wow...

It should be the engine from the 992 GT3 RS (not sure if that means 4.2L or higher-spec 4.0L). And probably shares a more lightweight exhaust with the RS (titanium or inconel muffler, etc.).
