Not on the ledge at all. Just trying to make an informed buying decision. My choice to put PCCB on my spec was in no small part tied to the virtual absence of brake dust on my 991.2 w/ PCCB.

US Part numbers - 992 GT3 with PCCB

9GT.698.151.D Front

After measuring the pads and rotors with a measurement caliper vs a 991.1 GT3RS, It looks like the 991 and 992 PCCB pads are the same pad shape front and back and should fit. The rotor thickness for both cars was identical at roughly 38mm, so everything seems to line up. I have ordered a set of 991 pads and will have final resolution for this by the end of the week. If they do fit, the standard course of business should be to request the 991 pads be installed at the time of delivery.

Sounds good.

My only thought here is, for how long will they be available? If they are the same shape and phased out due to an environmental demand, chances are that 991's will get the new pad as wall in the future when in for service. Simply put, I have a sneaking suspicion that Porsche will discontinue the original 991 pad and use the 992 pad for both cars in the future.

But hey, that means Pagid RSC 1, RSC 2, RSC 3 and RSL 1 pads are available. For me that means I won't even consider Porsche pads when something better is out there.

Is there any additional confirmation of brake dust with the PCCBs?

As mentioned a sample of 1 is wanting of more. It could be a bad batch or something else.

Pitbox social on Instagram has also noted excessive brake dust.

New part number means they changed something. And the dimensions didn’t change so…. Something else did.

I for one was very surprised at the amount of brake dust on sgroer's car the first day in the mountains. Very unexpected.

I can tell you Sgroer is pushing it pretty hard in the mountains. I rode with him cause I'm still waiting on mine. I bet if we were to compare braking G's you will quickly see how hard he was braking. Pccb never brake dust like this before. I'm sure it all has to do with new pad compound. And anyone with eyes can tell this is brake dust not road grime

Well, this isn’t news we want to hear!

I will probably change out my PCCBs for my PFCs as soon as I can, but maybe I need to stock up on the old pads too.

Another thought. I can’t imagine how bad the steels probably dust with oem pads if the pccb are this bad with the new compound.

Aside from the dust issue, any reports of PCCBs being weak for track driving? Or are all the reports so far of steel brakes w/factory pads?

BTW, any updates on the brake judder issue mentioned w/PCCBs in mountain driving?

The judder is real and is evident even in moderately spirited driving. I really can’t wait to get the 991 pads on the car. I think it’s going to really help everything.
