That being said, I still haven't come to a definite conclusion on whether A21s and older work better vs Pagid RSC1s which are very very similar to OEM PCCB pads, if not actually better than OEM PCCBs.

At this moment, I'm struggling to say A21s are better than Pagis RSC1s for a primary street driven car.
Are you saying that as in a first hand comparison between the two or as in an academic comparison? (A21 v. RSC1)

Something I can say is that the Pagid RSC1 can take more to bed in than your typical street pad. For those who have run the RSC1 and felt it didn't have enough bite, oftentimes they didn't bed them in hard enough to get a little bit of transfer layer down. If you feel you need more bite this can help with that.

Exclamation

First hand comparison, I'm currently on A21s and I'm struggling to find the advantage vs RSC1s (which I've kept safely away for when I'm going to swap them out from the A21s next Spring).

Both are run in properly and for all the headaches of not being able to get A21s and older, I'm going to lean towards recommending RSC1s as the ideal replacement.

@Hinz Motorsport is right, everything he's said about RSC1s is true, they're definitely a superior pad by all measures.

Default Thanks to SGROER

Holy thread resurrection batman !!

Just to add my 2 penneth in ..... Just done my 4th track day and in the afternoon my pad warning light came on. Horrendously dusty wheels when used on track. Research now shows that 4 track days is about all you can get out of std pccb pads due to the lack of copper content.

I obviously started doing some looking about to solve the problem and came across this thread. I'm grateful to SGROER who did all the legwork and posted solutions. I am going down the RSC1 route as a result. My car is a 2022 Euro build.

If you want to maximize your PCCB rotors, I would suggest you do NOT wear your pads that far down. Replace them when they are at 50% used, this will keep more heat out of the rotors.

and also upgrade your brake fluid and change that often as well. It’s the heat that destroys the carbon.

I would have done if someone had told me sooner that the 992 pads are made of cheese !!!! Found out the hard way but no harm. I now know for the future

Very much so. Got 4 track days out of the oem pads. Light came on near the end of the 3rd track day. Was very surprised. I expected 5-6 with my somewhat hard driving (pointy end of the hpde crowd but certainly slow in the scheme of things)

Quick question without having to trawl through hundreds of posts please - Does the 992 GT3 RS suffer the same problem with pads made from cream cheese ? I only ask as a mate has one and is on 2 trackdays so could be about to go into the pad wear zone........ cheers

Yeah. I was referencing my 992 3rs in my previous statement. They perform great but they certainly don't last long and the bite is kinda meh

Blame it on the EPA and the copper free initiative.
