I did a bit of digging, and it looks to me like the current 992 GT3 and 718 GT4/Spyder with PCCB share pad part numbers. If this is true, theu run a different pad shape than the 991.2 GT3 with PCCB.

The 718 GT4 PCCB caliper pad shape is different than then iron version and the 991 GT3 versions? That's news to me.

The 718 PCCB uses a pad that is 193.6 mm wide, and with a 65mm pad depth.
The 991.1 and 991.2 GT3 with iron discs uses,a pad that is 198mm wide and which has a pad depth of 62mm.
The 991 GT3 with PCCB uses a pad which is also 198mm wide, but with a depth of 74mm. So the two 991 GT3 cars uses the same caliper, but depth is different due to different rotor radius.

if you want to see the drawings, you can cross reference them on Pagids website.

718 GT4 PCCB fronts have pad shape 4908
991 GT3 Iron is pad shape 4924
991 GT3 PCCB uses pad shape 4927

What might have led to this assumption, it the fact that the 718 GT4 with iron rotors share pads with the GT3 with iron rotors.

Given all of this helpful info… I canceled my order for the 991.2 pads. We may be stuck with the RSC1 pads as the only option.

IIRC, someone posted on RL some material from P that suggests factory has optional brake pads for track use
May want to look into that as an alternative

Thanks for the specs! What is still not clear to me though is if each of these pad shapes are still cross compatible with the PCCB calipers in each of these models, and if so, what the nuanced differences are in pad material overlap with the rotor (or worst case the hat).

E.g., perhaps the 991 PCCB pads are compatible with the 992 PCCBs after all, despite these small differences in pad swept area and backing plate outline.

If one setup requires a pad depth of 74 mm and the other 65, then they simply won't fit. They may clip into the caliper, but they will not clear the rotor hat.

I’d take a little brake dust over the dreaded Squeal… but that is disappointing. My order isn’t locked yet and I’m getting black pccb’s- maybe I should think about black steel brakes. Thanks Sean!

Planned on doing the same -- black pccbs. Going to follow this thread until my lock date to see if this changes my mind. Silver wheels so weight and lack of dust were my primary motivations.

According to my dealer they do not have the same part numbers. I am getting the part numbers for the 992 and 2021 gt4 pccb cars and will use that to dig a little.
