Ah ok. One would think that having a relationship with dealers and being the first on the list would come with some assurances... but I guess not.

US peeps.
My dealer still has no pricing yet or the ability to configure through the dealer portal. But we're (Canucks) paying MSRP, regardless. Speaking with my SA and GM, pricing should increase though.

I bought a fully loaded C7 ZR1 and maintained an open channel for months/years. The other dealer services my ZR1 and will service my Z06 too. So I bring revenue to them which otherwise they dont see (not a lot of ZR1 & Z06s being serviced in the same place lol)

LOL! The fact that you have a dealer you would trust to wrench on the two is shocking!

My God the C8 is so ugly.

It looks like a social media argument in automotive form. Just random thoughts everywhere with no concern for truth or beauty. I have no doubt it will be appreciated in 20 years, much like the 996. It is so of the era.

Just drove C8 on track, back to back with a few other cars (Huracan STO, GT2RS, 992 GT3, GT3RS, 488 Pista). It is literally garbage. Complete and utter trash. Boring to drive, zero drama, zero excitement. It feels numb and lifeless and cheap. No thanks.

Default RS punishing DD?

Won't have the same cachet, but assuming decent reliability, at $100k-$120k is a very compelling street-able track car. The RS is a pretty punishing daily car...frankly don't think the vette will be any less street-able (probably will be more so).
I totally disagree. I have owned a 997RS for almost 10 years now, put over 32k miles on it, and it is perfectly fine for commuting. I used it just so for four years, and my fillings are fine, and my back doesn’t ever ache. To this day, it puts a huge grin on my face each and every time I drive it. Man up.

I doubt a Z07 will have the same deficiencies you are quoting for the base C8 which is just grandpa cruiser mobile. I don't think any Z06 has ever been described as 'boring' lol

I think the one I drove had some sort of track/performance package. But yeah... it felt like something you'd rent from Hertz. Is the new Z06 comparable to a Huracan STO or GT2RS? The STO is the most exciting car I've ever driven and the GT2RS is definitely the fastest around a track I've experienced.

I watched numerous youtube videos where the engineers were driving the car and it is clear that from steering to braking to even throttle response everything has been tuned way up for the Z06. I doubt that it will drive like C8. The chief engineer has multiple videos where he elaborates on quick steering and road feel being immediately felt by the driver as well as how sensitive throttle response is. The C8 is a numb car made for certain buyer market. Everyone knows this. I dont see the C8 Z06 as some exotic car, I see it as a N/A nimble fun car that will put smiles on my face. I actually find Lambos hideous (inside and out) and would not own one even if someone gave me a car for free (I'd just sell it).

There is so much engineering in the C8 Z06 that one should own the car just to enjoy and appreciate the engine. I think it will give GT3 run for its money.

Well what did you expect from $60k car + Z51? Every other car you tested is way north of $200k+? Forget being in the same class, those exotics are on a different stratosphere compared to the C8 you drove.

The C8 Z06 has the potential to make those forgettable bits about the base C8 vanish into thin air.

Z06 will be comparable to the GT3 performance at GT4 price. Upcoming 800 something hp ZR1 will be the GT2RS comparison.

The engine alone will be worth it - I actually don't care if it can turn or stop.

I think they were benchmarking 991 GT2 RS - they were seen together in much of the testing. With 160hp and 135 ft-lbs more than a GT3, it should out-run it (but proof will be in the official Ring 20.8km lap time)...
