Porsche Greenwich has a Green GT3 with a $233k MSRP currently on their lot. They are asking $125K over….if anyone is interested :-)

They also had a $196k MSRP 992 GT3 which they claim they just sold for 100k over....

Who knows - this is in Greenwich, CT - enough insane money out there among the hedge fund billionaires, Wall St types and other mega-wealthy folks.

Porsche is certainly making the dealers happy - at $125k over (and it seems people are paying these prices or close to it), the dealer is making how much - $140-145k+ of gross margin per car???

A sales guy at Greenwich posted in a thread back in the spring that they were taking orders at $30k over. If you snooze, you lose!

It’s going to get worse before it gets better. P.AG is backed up. I can’t even get a simple part ordered before a 3-6 month wait.

I just loaded my configuration (PNYHY8H3) for my Touring build summer 22. I know for a fact my dealer just collected 75K for a winged car & 100K for a touring. Hard to knock these dealers when clients are lining up to lay down the cash. They are telling me only local clients and they are very firm w that. It did seem a little odd that I felt “lucky” to get a car for 50K over. Crazy times

With all due respect, I think it is extremely easy to knock the dealers asking for it.

Ya I understand both sides of the story. I am crazy over these cars. I admit over the top. If I could have secured an allocation for less you bet I would have travelled far and wide to pay a lower price. I got mine at my local dealer for 50K because I have purchased many cars and do have a relationship. When covid first hit and dealers had TONS of inventory I got an AMAZING deal on a car for my wife. I know for a fact the dealer made nothing on the transaction just wanted the car off their lot. Times will again change as will the new car market. Capitalism is not perfect but it’s the system we got. I choose to work my *** off and spend some of my money on these silly toys. I will not live as long because of the stress I put myself under but I’m going to have fun while I’m here

Any tip(s)on how to do this?

Speaking as someone who has zero history with his dealer other than putting a small deposit to get on the waiting list for a GT3 allocation atMSRP all the way back in 2017… I can only hope that they will keep their word and that my continual engagement with them to establish a relationship will eventually work out. But if they end up asking (requesting?) for an ADM, and given the overall market conditions, what other recourse would I have to order and spec a car the way I want?

Unfortunately there's no recourse on this. I'm not too familiar with Porsches but this type of scenario is typical with Gwagons.

You’ve been waiting 5 years for a slot?

Sadly yes. I am probably partly naive, but I got on the list in April 2017 as number 35 and now worked my way up to top 5-6.
As I said, I am SUPPOSED to get a MSRP allocation, but times have changed so much that I wouldn’t be surprised if they will suddenly broach the topic of ADM now.

It also seems that with this never ending epidemic, I will not be able to do Euro Delivery…but that is a topic for another day.

You should bottle your patience and sell it on Amazon. I’d be a repeat buyer. Paying ADM will be chump change after that. Unless your dealer holding a deposit makes good on their word, you probably are looking at 2023 before you can get a slot at msrp based on no prior history with them. I hope its much sooner. Good luck!
