Where did the $10k go? Servicing and tires?

Dealerships shouldn't look at the (Sale - Buy = Profit) of a single car, they also make money off the new car the customer is buying through the obvious profit of the new car, financing, add ons, etc... so even if the dealer 'only' profits 1/3 of the trade in, the dealer is making lots of money elsewhere that wouldn't have otherwise happened w/o the trade

That's the profit for the dealership owner. The $10k goes to overhead expenses, staff salaries and commissions, etc., plus some money that may spent to inspect and fix a car.

As a DP, a colleague recently paid $50k markup for a MY24 non-Touring GT3 allocation with no previous relationship/purchase history. Bay Area dealer. Interpret it however you want

I did and was told my name would be put on a list once my specs were received. I promptly sent over my build and never heard from them again.

I was fortunate enough to locate an out of state dealer who offered me a MY2024 GT3T built to my specs at a fair ADM. At the end of the day my time is more precious than the amount of money I will be shelling out for a little enjoyment.

It must be pure ego . . . and it certainly doesnt help those "asking" about ADM's who dont have a robust transaction history with a dealer.
Haha says the guy that constantly has to beta flex his “daily equity swings cover my ADM” lolz

Might be time for a moderator to step in. Someone here is still taking swipes at people, just not naming them specifically.

A young gentleman from a Pcar dealership was third in the que, but offered me materially more. I sold it to him and the transaction took 5 days from start to finish.
MSRP on my GT4 was $112,900 and I paid $112,000 for it with 1200 miles and CPO from a Pcar dealer. Original owner was a "Cars and Coffee" guy who was running out of garage space in Los Altos. Car came with $5,000 of PPF from Premier.

I would have never gotten the price that I got by trading my GT4 back to my dealer with 15,000 miles on it.
Moreover, I would not have been able to "lock-in" an agreed upon price on my trade-in until my '23 GT3 arrived.

Between the recent price increases and the price of my GT4 sale, the ADM on my 2023 Touring has essentially been a wash.
LOL I grew up in Los Altos, went to Los Altos High. Super nice area, the place and people could not be more boring as everyone is pretty into their jobs like they're insanely interesting when in reality they're COG #737943943 in some mega cap company. But, you'll find nice cars there...

I hope you have an amazing weekend Diablo Guy. I'm gonna fly to vegas and drink a bunch of fun juice at the clubs with my friends and win some ADM's at the craps table LFG!

Also I like my 718 GT4 manual way more than my 991.2 GT3RS fwiw. I think because manual (and so nimble and fun)

On the road!! I dd’d both of them and it’s just more fun car day to day for sure

on track I honestly have fun with anything tbh, my m4 and my old mustang gt from when I tracked high school college days are both fun because they drift a lot more than say a Porsche. but Porsches are just so impressive but I really like driving like Chris Harris towards the end of the day (or at least try to) haha so drift happy cars are really fun for me.

any day at the track in any car is a great day of fun

Paid (for me) what was a reasonable ADM. One that wasnt even 25% of the average daily equity swing in my brokerage account.

I felt very comfortable with my transaction and the car is as good as advertised.

Have a nice weekend everybody. And Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there.
Cool story.

Don’t shoot the messenger….GT3 RS with delivery miles…$200k+ ADM @ North Houston.

Dealers are in it to make money. If your situation gets you MSRP without any stipulations, consider yourself lucky otherwise you’re paying one way or another.

And don’t get me wrong, I’m sure no one wants to pay ADM or defends it, at least I don’t. I just wish the market near me or in general was like the old days I hear about.

I expect that things will be like the old days again, eventually. I think we’re still in a stimulus-driven bubble.

No big shocker here, the first cars just landed here so flipped cars will be asking some nose bleed prices. If I remember right, there was a listing for a 991R for $1m when the first ones arrived. They are looking for the most impatient YOLO idiots that they can find to pay these prices. Hell, you might be able to get a 997 GT3RS 4L for a little more and that is a car to collect. The only direction the price of this car is going is DOWN.
