Would you have paid $20k over MSRP in 2022 to get a GT3 allocation? You have no problem paying the extra $20k price increase now though since it is Porsche setting the price, rather than the market.
I think paying MSRP or not is more about psychology and personal principles than it is with profit margins and economics.

No, I wouldn't have paid $20k over in 2022. I can rationalize paying higher MSRP now because the $20k corresponds to inflation and isn't really a price increase when adjusted for inflation. And a MY 2024 car will have more value than a MY 2022 car a few years from now. Also, I didn't start shopping for a 992 GT3 until late last year, so getting a MY 2022 car wasn't really a possibility.

I sold my GT4 after 5 years for $3,000 less than I paid for it and spec'd a 2023 GT3 Touring with a dealer that I had no previous purchase relationship with for a $40,000 ADM.
I also incurred zero travel, hotel, or transport expenses dealing with an out of state dealer nor did I have to buy them any BBQ.

Don't mind them too much, they live in the land where dealers don't know the definition of a relationship and the state will tax the same car being sold an infinite amount of times.

For sure. I have nothing against car dealers, but the vast majority of the profit should be going to the company that designs and builds the cars.

BTW, because USC has a relationship with his dealer, he got a MY 22 ($8k less than yours) and PTS.

Don’t fool yourselves. If your car sells for the same amount that you paid X years ago, you lost money because the value didn’t keep up with inflation, and there’s also the opportunity cost from not being able to invest the money (or the interest paid if you took a loan).
The only cars that really hold value or gain value are the collectibles, and that’s only if you don’t put many miles on them.

Come on boys and girls - why cant we share our enthusiasm for our cars vs trying to justify why we did or did not pay an ADM. No one is an "idiot" one way or another. I know i would have to pay an ADM for a 2024 GT3 as i dont have the time or the desire to build a relationship. If a dealer happens to like me and values my business - excellent. If not so be it. This constant bickering is getting tiring. Shouldn't this thread be about educating those on what the deals of the day are, current market pricing trends etc., vs name calling and a soap opera? Although it's like must see TV.
