"The road car is designed to fulfill every driving enthusiast’s wish, with a high-revving, naturally aspirated engine that is virtually identical to the track-only 911 GT3 Cup race car. "

"“Like all Porsche sports cars, the new 911 GT3 is meant to be driven – and this one even more so, since it was born from motorsports and tailored to the road,”"

Seems that Porsche is marketing the GT3 as both a road car and track car, and it's selling well as a road car. So I concede you point. That said, I would encourage GT3 owners to ride shotgun in the GT3 on track with a good driver to get an idea of what the car can do, and also drive the car on track at least once themselves.

Those people should also ride shotgun in an actual track/race car to realize how soft and compromised a GT3 is in that environment.

You are not going to convince anyone to visit the track if they don't want. The conversation is going to go back and forth as always with some insults thrown around
It's free will and they can do what they want as much as it pains you and probably other tracks guys I used to be one of those that considered canyon run, etc spirited driving until i went to track day years back. Not everyone can track their cars or even care.
Heck, we have someone mentioned on RS thread they know someone getting allocation for RS that will not track.. ummmm What? I don't get that myself but again it's free will and free country still.. but damn RS only to CC and get groceries? Where are you going to put the groceries

I'm not trying to convince, just suggesting - if you have a GT3, might as well see what it's like near its limits, which is impossible on the road.

Seems like 3RS is clearly marketed as a track car, hence no road reviews allowed so far. I expect that the ride quality on not-smooth roads will be rather harsh. But I suspect that most of the 3RS won't be tracked. Porsche GT cars seem to have become a luxury good, no longer bought mostly by people who want to drive them a lot.

Not that compromised if you put slicks on it.

Manifold, you are definitely an odd duck, but that gristle is what makes this forum oh so fun to read. I am glad you are an engineer. I will leave that statement for interpetation.

As for the others of you intent on trying to change or dissuade Manifold from being an odd duck, why not just give it up and move on as well? Are you really thinking you can crack the code on this bird? I mean, holy moly!

If only the remaining threads in this forum were THIS entertaining....
