I’d say less than 1% want an acid green GT3, but the 99% would say it looks awesome.

This is a really strange scenario to posit. On the one hand, paying a 50k ADM, or not, is within your control. On the other hand, your 401(k) tanking is pretty much out of your control, unless you go super conservative and sit in cash. Again, a strange situation to face, but I'll play along. The ADM is gone, poof, into the coffers of the dealer, bye-bye forever. But if your 401(k) tanks, it can come back and then some.
The ADM "Nannies" here play a comical game of conflation. Its gone from actual ADM's in the first 5 pages of this thread, to people yapping about how many 991's are on Autotrader, to cars that are just "fun to drive" ... never mind the "economists" predicting Recession and how that impacts the potential 992 GT3 buyer....as if every Crypto Kid with a $10,000 account at FTX was a potential GT3 buyer.
Moreover, from reading some of these posts, you'd think that Porsche cranks out 29,000 992 GT3's.
Try 2,900.
Big difference.

Not sure I understand the relevance of the c2s being (your word) RARE. Just sounds like the word should be no one wants one, hence lower production numbers. It is like a local dealer here in PA who always seems to offer the 1 of 4 seafoam green Cayman, calling it rare. No Sh&%. No one wants a seafoam green Cayman ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Anyhow, obviously buyers want the gt3 more than a c2s, so Porsche will build what the people want....when they can finally get their act together and build more cars! How is it possible we are still living in a market where Bose can't get amplifiers and Porsche can't give you carbon ceramic brakes. Seems inane, doesn't it?!!
USCTrojan, you mentioned buying a Pista or Speciale. You are seriously ready to buy a car that, once you actually drive, the value plummets? Buying at MSRP is one (all of mine have been MSRP because of my dealer relationship), but the problem with Ferrari has always been the market perception when the damn car hits 10k miles. Just mentioning this because this is why I finally got tired of the Ferrari game....

Then 991.1 Gt3 isnt worth more than $100k, in that regard, yet still...they trade significantly higher. Go figure.

The F cars were not as bad and Mac. I had a couple since the 7 year maintenance program started. The challenge, however, is having to pay for a warranty that runs roughly $6K per year. On the Mac side, I had a 570 and a 720 Spider and Coupe. Oil change was $2K per year, and the warranty didnt cover things like the suspesion accumulators. I never owned a Mac long enough to have to extend the warranty, but those are cars that should never be out of warranty!

Yeah, a 401k is a longer term hold so who cares what the value of it is if you aren't within 5 days of retirement and thinking about pulling the money of it. The 401k may go down in value in the short term but it will rebound in the longer term, the GT3....no so much.
If you're the typical American with their 401k in a 60/40 portfolio, you got crushed on BOTH sides of that equation.
And if you were overweight growth names you got decimated compared to the typical S&P index fund. Doesnt matter if you're only in your 20's or 30's or youre in your 40's or 50's.
Performance is performance. And complacency is just setting yourself up for failure.
