Market is actually cooling faster than I thought it would - that applies to everything though. Real estate, watches, cars etc. The assets that were previously depreciating but suddenly appreciated over the past 18 months are of course due for the biggest correction. That somewhat applies to GT cars but less so than, say, an AMG Mercedes. The car prices that I think will get crushed: Mclaren 720s (there are 220 used ones for sale on Autotrader) and Huracan (6 year old LP 580s asking for over MSRP when they were $40k under just in 2019, EVO rwd asking for well over MSRP but not moving at all and Technica is arriving soon).

A manual with a 260k ask - 85k above MSRP. Haven't followed too closely but seems to be some downward pressure on 992 GT3s lately. Hopefully others can get in on the fun eventually - I know I would like to entertain it if the delta between my 997.2 gt3 and 992 closes a bit more.

I wasn't planning on it but curious to what part you disagree with; that the broad market is correcting? Or that cars that traditionally depreciated heavily but appreciated post COVID are not going to correct in prices more than cars that have traditionally held their value?

Are you telling us to short Sonic Automotive since they own Tactical Fleet?

Is $100k over MSRP the market for a PDK/Sofa/Steel touring?

It’s a touring, always commands more. If color
combo is tamed, the spec is almost negligible.

More than the $100K over, $275-$300k ish, seems to be the going rate for a Touring on secondary market and most dealers.

It appears that Porsche will not offer the GT3 in 2024- and most dealers have already committed their allocations for 2023.

the mark up for a new GT3 - virgin car- will stay at $100,000 and likely go higher as the dealer spec cars are sold off the floor and the allocations become more scarce.

lots of us old guys are not interested in buying USED cars so the pricing of a new GT3 and a used one could diverge a lot by the end of this model year.

if you want to buy a new GT3 and design it yourself that window is closing and for a lot of guys in their 60’s plus with X millions and health issues the price is meaningless - might not be around for the 993 GT3 cycle.

when it comes to buying one of these toy Porsche models Personally I want the entire experience at this point in my life. I want to suffer over the configurator and the color and options and then watch the car on the Track my Dream website and finally pick it up in pristine untouched ( we’ll sort of ) condition. And watch the fabric cover pulled off by my wife.

too old for someone’s else’s left over toys.

And from experience the gals are more impressed with that open top than the extra 100 hp or wishbone suspension even though it does help corner a lot better in the grocery store parking lot.

the only car worth an extra $100,000 will be the 911 Spyder….. that is the car that will remove a gals panties faster than even a turbo S.

the genius of Porsche is that the GT3 is 90% the same as the base Carrera. Same interior, same electronics, same body except for the silly giant wing and even same carbon fiber seats and I bet that engine is not all that different in a large number of components. The profit margins must be massive.
me end fewer letters on the back…..

i bought three different Porsche sports cars - 911 Targa 4, GT4 and a Boxster GTS - I had the fun of using the configurator three times - not once - got to agonize over deviated stitching three times and got to watch them in the factory and watch three ships steam around the world. Pulled the sheet on three new cars as well. And now I have three sports cars instead of one and each has its own personality. My idea is that the most beautiful girl has a hard time competing with three darn nice looking and fun girl friends on your arm and in your bed all at once.

just my experience - make Porsche give you another complete car for that extra $125,000 mark up over msrp. I bought 1,198 Porsche horsepower, 18 Porsche pistons and 12 Porsche wheels and three steering wheels and not one- but three Bose stereo systems. Okay you want to impress at the local Porsche club of America cars and coffee? Pull in with three new Porsche sports cars - best to have your girlfriends driving the o second and third car of course for real attention getting from other Porsche fans - if attention is your thing.

It is crazy fun to have to decide which of three new Porsche sports cars to drive each morning. The dealer was so thrilled they gave me a $3,000 discount on the Boxster GTS and sold me the GT4 at msrp and threw in a free hat! Now I can buy any other Porsche at favorable prices. Negotiating a $125,000 adm on a single car hardly gives you a reputation with that dealer as a savvy and demanding customer.

lots of arguments over which of the three seats offered by Porsche should one order. With three cars I got one of each style and truth is they are all comfortable. And three transmissions too!

tell your salesman you want to buy three cars - not just one. The salesman I have talked to say they don’t get any extra commission for writing up a sale with $125,000 markup on a single car. Now I’m legend st the dealer- the guy that bought three in the same year not just the guy that bought one car and paid an embarrassingly silly massive markup.

Hahaha,,, if someone is willing to spend 100k adm for run of the mill gt3, i recommend him to spend that 100k to get his brain checked first.

I check every day and I just see more and more added, but none have been sold.

I've seen multiple price drops though.
