I am about to do the exact same thing. Current MF wheel with no heat upgrading to GT Sport MF wheel with no heat so I am curious as how to handle as well.

Did you get the wheel with or without the mode dial?

I plugged it in (there were no wires in my clock spring on my 2018 GT3, but the plug was there to keep the wires out of the way) and replaced the rear panel with the heating switch with one without the switch from suncoast.

That’s good to know, thanks! Do you happen to remember the part # for the rear panel?

Update: I plugged it in per the advice here. Just put it all back together this morning (with a new rear plastic panel insert to replace heat toggle). So far EVERYTHING works as advertised. It was not very difficult but I usually take my time with projects. If you have the right tools (outline in instructions) lined up & don’t change the heating switch panel, would probably only take hour or hour & a half. Pics below 😀

I don’t, but suncoast has them for $20 each, $24 for the one with the heated switch on it. Edit: I see you found it. Looks great. It is not a hard job and 90min is not bad. If I had to do it again, 30mins would do it now that I know what I am doing.

Looks great! Can you tell me more about the rear panel that you replaced? Is this necessary and if so do you have the part #? Thanks. Ordered my wheel from Suncoast a couple of days ago. Should be here in a couple of weeks.

I don’t have the part # but the folks at Suncoast got it for me no problem...also, Evilfij provided me this link that helped. Order that part now & you might have it before the steering wheel . Let me know if you have any questions during the install. -Dom

Very interested in this mod.

My current 991.1 has SC and PDK, non heated, non multifunction, "SportDesign" steering wheel. I would like to upgrade to the smaller diameter wheel "GT Sport", Black Leather, PDK, multifunction, non heated, no SC ****. Can someone help with the steering wheel and airbag part numbers? Thanks much.

any updates on this for 991.2 non mf owners seeking to go mf?

The gpsadapter without Mode Switch and none heate support use this one https://gpsadapter.us/products/stmv1...nt=38387040267

Original sport design steering wheel with SC,upgrade to 991.2 multifunction install with gpsadapter is plug&play.

Default Help with Steering Wheel Swap!

I went from a sport design, PDK, no heat wheel to one with heat and mf. Using the adapter and my original clockspring, everything worked except the heat and MF display on the PCM; no fault codes appeared. I then replaced my clockspring with one from a used car with heat and multifunction. With the used clock spring, the heat and multifunction worked on the wheel (still no display on the pcm for MF which I know needs to be coded with PIWIS).

Unfortunately, there were several other issues, including:

- Cruise control doesn't come on when stalk button is pushed
- Voice control doesn't work anymore when stalk button is pushed

- Error messages:
- Fault of headlamps control system (I have PDLS)
-Steering wheel support limited (needs calibration?? I tried moving the wheel from left stop to right and it still has the fault)
-PASM fault (I don't have PASM)
-PSM Loss (I assume it is related to the PASM fault; maybe PSM is off because it is looking for PASM)
-Start stop operation deactiviated

My question is can these be corrected through PIWIS Programming?

Thanks.

Did anyone get the dash air bag warning light triggered as a result of this mod?

Update: GPS said I might have disconnected battery and airbag with key on, but should be an easy fault to clear.
